I got XCOM for christmas, and I already love the hell out of it. It does have a few small gameplay issues, but overall it's fantastic.

I have a team made up of the Beastie Boys and the Three Stooges. I also named three of the four Golden Girls, and two of them are psychic. I wish the psychic powers were more varied, but they're still fun to mess around with.

Has anyone played the DLC for this? Is it any good?

I have not tried the DlC yet. I didn't know it was out. You should add a new recruit named Duelpro and see how long he lasts.

Beat Sleeping Dogs. Ending was alright, but I was kind of hoping for a choice to go Cop or Triad in the end. Still though, it was very enjoyable until it froze afterwards while driving. My progress was lost.



Beat Mass Effect 2 with only one team member dying. Decided to take that into Mass Effect 3.

I read the brief bit about Skyrim, which I picked back up after I moved. I agree that most of the mechanics remain faithful to the series, but several are gone like weapons and armor durability, acrobatics and athletics being gone, etc.. But I'm cool with that, mostly. My criticism with Skyrim is that almost every big quest so far is directly spoon-fed to me, bite-for-bite. Sometimes its as bad or even worse than Fallout 3's quest chains. At least in some ways. Just about every town you walk into has an obvious case of "Oh no, I have this problem! Who will help me!? Oh, look! It's the main character!" The very second the player walks in the main gate, they get fed quests without having to really go digging for them. About two thirds of the dungeons have a conconvient way out, without going back the way you came. Even reading a book gives you obvious quest markers for where you need to go to find legendary artifacts, instead of looking for it on your own curiousity. In these cases, yeah, its a tad over-simplified and takes me out of the adventure experience at times.

But otherwise, its a superb game. The books are still fun to read, characters are still interesting and the story is still easy to get lost in.

I picked up Sands of Destruction for the DS and I started to like the game.

It has a pretty ****ed up story plot, which kinda fells flat on its face when they decided to throw in humor in the worst spots. The main character suddenly uses a power that turns everyone he knew in his village and those around him into sand.

But instead of having any sad or emotional response, he just seems confused and happy when the girl who tells him that he is to destroy the world.

But I was able to enjoy it. The battles were really easy. Up till the one point in the game. Suddenly I was doing very, very little damage to the enemies but they weren't able to hit me for much either.

Then I enter another room, and suddenly the enemies hit me three times and kill me.

The game was clearly not game tested. So I stopped playing.

Now I am playing X-com.
