Jack becomes way more funny when you get past the first major story point. Maybe instead of judging the linearity and bad guy 20 minutes into the game you should actually play it...
You need better friends, because other than the semi-broken/cheap cover system, Borderlands 2 fixed every single problem there was with the first game.
Not the things that I have an issue with.
"Couch co-op is the only true co-op." Richard of the Cooks.
Yeah, played bl2 with toaster over the weekend and we pretty much rolled our eyes every five seconds during the tutorial...
Im not surprised its the same humor from part 1. Just not for me. Also the same from part 1, everyone insisting that "if you only played it longer you'd know you judgmental ****" gimme a break.
Okay, I'm not quite to Sanctuary yet, and I've dropped probably five or six hours (probably more, actually) into this, not twenty minutes.
So I guess my main beef is that in the first game, you can kinda wander anywhere after you finish the tutorial, and if you find an area to be harder than you can currently handle, you can find another area and grind for levels or weapons if you feel the need. So far in BL2, that's not really possible. Either everything is too hard and my guns are too weak and I can't progress, or I go back to earlier sections after enemy respawns and get a piddly amount of experience. I know reviews have stated that this was really geared toward co-op, but I was not anticipating not really even being able to progress solo, as I had zero problem soloing in the first one.
I guess I'm just frustrated because I had a huge amount of fun in the first one, which was free for me on PS+. I liked it so much that I picked up BL2 week one on the strength of the first game (having had zero interest in the series before a month ago...that's how much I liked the first one) and spent $60 just to hit a brick wall. Not fun.
Well, the game is a lot harder than the first one, and unfortunately since you aren't at Sanctuary yet there isn't much you can do other than get there. The game doesn't really level you up through fighting, unless they are badasses or bosses--the main bulk if your XP, like the first is always through quests.
Like with your "500 hours in Morrowind" thing, I have no idea how you are on hour 6 and not in Sanctuary. I did all the side quests and was there in under 90 minutes. (One of the first Sanctuary quests gives you a mad good etech gun)
Ill agree about the exploration, but I can tell you in a little bit 3 or so areas will open up that you can fully explore even if you have no quests there, and there are some areas (Friendship Gulag, Lynchwood) that I found just wandering around exploring that we're above my level but still accessible.
Really the only problem I have with the game is the first 5 or so story missions don't let you explore too much, but it gets a lot more open down the road--I spent the whole weekend not doing the story and just wandering around doing random quests.
Still playing Wild Arms occasionally as my "before bed hour" game. That game has aged well for what it is.
The former. Both Kefka and Mora love it, so it's gotta be good, right? Toaster espouses the virtues of the latter, though...
If I'm not mistaken, 999 just got a reprint with new cover art (probably to coincide with the impending release of its sequel), so you might want to search around for the original, if that kind of thing matters to you. They had a listing for the original version brand-new on Amazon when I checked just now for $21 and change, plus shipping. They also had a "buy them both for $54.99" heading for both games you listed. :3
Edit: That being said, I actually prefer the new cover art.
So today I got around to nabbing that final ending in Nier and hoho~ boy was it good.
Big deal though right? Well reason why I'm sharing the above photo is because when looking through my achievements, I realized I got the fourth and final ending two years to the day I first played Nier!
Nothing that spectacular, but though it was kind of neato so I decided to share.
