On the handheld front I'm playing Loco Roco 2.

The game is alot of fun, but cutscenes are something out of blues clues, and the music ranges from catchy, to something out of a preschool cartoon.

Kind of taking a short break from playing Romancing SaGa over the weekend. The game is very non-linear and trying to keep everthing straight was making my head spin. So I've been playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath to unwind a bit with some easy hack-and-slash action.

best part of dark alliance is undressing the characters.

I like Dark Alliance 2 a lot better. More options, more characters. I used to use that mannish-looking female Cleric, but I tried using the dwarf Rogue and had a lot more fun setting bombs for enemies to run into and eventually turning him into a dual-wielding, heavily-armored killing machine.

Playing through Half-Life 2 again, this time on hard.

Shooters, unfortunately, are the genre of gaming which ages the worst. I still had great fun with Half-Life last year. And I'm having fun this time around with Half-Life 2. But even on hard I can run up to a Combine officer and just plug him with the glock until he dies, and he doesn't do much.

Didn't want to make this its own topic, so I brought this one back, as at least marcus would be able to appreciate this.


I decided to pick up Etrian Odyssey II again yesterday, and did about 5-6 hours of grinding. Got a party of five level 7 characters built up to levels 13/14, and then decided to reintegrate them into the rest of my higher level (16-17) characters. So got back to the fifth floor and explored a bit more of it than I had previously before I had set the game down. Two of my party died on the way back (I didn't bring a warp whistle, so I needed to slog all the way back). I get to the second floor with two members still alive, and was able to mine/take a few more items, as I had spent so much time in the dungeon that those abilities had refreshed. I decide to mine, and one of those, "!Oh no!" messages appears. It's that giant flower thing, and I was out of items to injure it, out of TP to use special abilities, and could not escape after 3 tries. And I died after spending a good hour and a half and after having leveled everyone up at least once (not something to sniff at when most were in the 2500-3000 point range to level, and took an hour and a half).


So the moral of the story here is, ALWAYS bring a warp whistle, and DO NOT GET GREEDY!

I'm playing Batman: Arkham Asylum for PS3. I somehow managed to get the special edition without having to pre-order. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Having a great time with Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace, too. Definitely the best of the three.

I should probably hurry up and beat them both soon, what with my imported Pokemon Soul Silver shipping in a bit over a week.
