Your activity is basically complete and I will say that you probably have the most complimentary edit in the game. It's a real compliment to hear that this is tempting you to want RM3!

For now I'm not going to reveal too much about the way I characterize people in this thread, because I think it's one of the most fun parts of the game and I don't want it to be something the player knows what to expect.

This actually brings up an interesting point... if anyone is really curious (or nervous!) about their own representation, PM me and I'd be happy to tell you at any time. One caveat though... I'm not going to distort my vision; if you don't like something, you either need to just tolerate it (because really, it's all in good fun) or ask that you be removed from the game.

Also, once the game has been available for a month or two I'll actually write up descriptions of everything (activities, personalities, strategy, etc.) in order to persuade the fence-sitters to give it a try.

Thanks all for your comments! With the new deadline, I will almost certainly be able to finish the game and make it something you will love to play.

The inclusion of me is certainly unexpected, but I definitely appreciate it, even if you do make me a variety of poop dragon or the like. I've been on the fence about whether or not to get RPGM3, but now I think I will. Your words have are depleting my money supply. You are powerful and crafty, indeed.

I'm very curious about my section in the game. I could take it in oh so many ways. Can't wait to try it out Wavelength!!

(I'm glad that there's been an extension for everyone to have plenty of time to get things done.)

          PROGRESS UPDATE

New names to the list include Gloom, Big Rick Cook, Thutmose and JPS. If you guys want certain character sprites or don't want to be included at all, let me know.

So I made some decent progress last weekend, but was either too busy or too tired every night this week to do anything. I got back into the fight tonight and I'm working hard to make up for lost time. It's going to be close. I refuse to cut corners on the quality, so if I need to cut two or three activities out to meet the deadline, I'll add them in in the second build of the game.

Yes, like Hell's Dining Room, there will probably be at least two builds of the game released, so I can improve on it after I get feedback from the contest. Unlike Hell's Dining Room, it won't take four months for me to post a public version after I submit it to the contest; I think I'll post the initial build immediately so anyone else can give their feedback if they'd like, which should be reflected in the second version.

Also, I was thinking I'd open up a thread in my Game Forum to post your high scores in the game and keep a running Leaderboard. If I do, I'll also do the same for Hell's Dining Room. I only want to do this if it would get some participation, because a leaderboard with two entries would look really sad. What do you guys think of this; is it something you think you'd like?

Re: Perversion and Paper: My Pavilion Biography Entry

I'm hard at work on the game, and with 10+ modes in many events that I have to adjust manually, I have to fight the urge to just "drop it for the night and come back tomorrow". There is no tomorrow. Well, there is, but I need tomorrow too. I should say there is no slack left.

So here's a copy of the activites from the front page. If it's in lime, it's either complete or nearly complete, and will be in the first release unless I find it's irreversibly bugged. If it's in gold, I'm pretty damn gung-ho about it making the cut and it will probably be in the first release. If it's just in white, it might go either way, depending on how rapidly the rest of development goes. However, even if it doesn't make the first release, it will make it into a future release.

            Customer Service - Sezjeuric, Raithwall
            Treasure Hunt - Sejon Sol
Boiling Point - Simple Man, Lord Cohliani, Valkysas (Will be in the first build)
Like Watching Paint Dry - Wavelength
Don't Give Up - Gloom (Will not be in the first build)
            What the Pho? - Pagerron
            Spelling Be - Karr
Face Off - Alzar, Big Rick Cook
            Short Leish's Stories - Leish
Reversal of Fortune - Obright (Will be in the first build)
Technical Wizardry - Thutmose (Will probably not be in the first build)
Indie Pants - Toaster (Will probably be in the first build)
            Rep Battle - JPS
            Nippon Chips - Bonanza
The Bad Side of Town - Terr

Bonus Scene - ??? (Will be in the first build, and will include a lot of Pavvies)
Bonus Scene 2 - ??? (Will probably not be in the first build)

By the way, in the interest of humor, every single one of you guys (plus me) is a heavy caricature of your defining elements at the Pav. I never wrote anything I felt could truly hurt anyone, but outside of that, everyone gets "roasted" at least a little, even the people who I feel don't deserve a single negative word. Hardly anyone is portrayed in a completely negative manner, though. I just hope y'all can take it in good humor

Re: Perversion and Paper: My Pavilion Biography Entry

I did Terr's activity today and it's one of my favorites, so I just wanted to give you guys a taste of what to expect from one of the higher-action segments in the game. Not all activities involve this kind of action, but some do and I think this one really highlights what Perversion & Paper has to offer.

Deciding to visit Terr for the evening, Perversion makes his way into Badlands, TX... and promptly gets lost. He can't remember the directions Terr gave him because he was too busy playing Flower at the time, but Terr (practicing his survival skills for the inevitable Mad Max Scenario) left some flares to indicate the way.

You have a minute and a half to run through a very cluttered maze of houses, fences, and other obstacles (obviously, the cities in Texas are not so masterfully planned).

I used a Random Number Generator to turn off and on different obstacles so there are a few different setups that you might see in the maze; each setup has one main route (as well as a couple of roundabout paths) that will get you to the finish.

If you don't finish in time, the outlook is grim. After a minute and a half, some of the local illiterate roughnecks capture you. You get one chance to make a "Saving Throw" roll (by rolling a 17+ on a 20-sided die).

If you make the Saving Throw, you escape and the evening ends without incident. If you fail the roll, they beat you to a pulp, reducing your Intelligence stat by 1, and steal the $110 you had on you.

If you make it to Terr's house in time, he invites you in, tells you about the custom car he's building, and the ensuing conversation has Terr and Perversion on completely different levels: Terr keeps talking about how the economy is going to collapse and everything is going to go to hell, whereas Perversion keeps mentioning his favorite TV shows and video games.

Along the way, Terr gives you a spare pair of "Sweet-Ass Hubcaps" (which you can auction off later on eBay), as well as $256 ("it's not going to be worth anything next year anyway").

Re: Perversion and Paper: My Pavilion Biography Entry

Finishing up the eBay system right now (you have the option to put 1-2 items that you've won up for auction, and each subsequent time you spend an evening on eBay, you get one of four bids which you can either accept (getting the cash immediately) or reject (hoping for a better bid next time).

It took me considerably longer than I thought to set up. I'm so bad with estimating how long things will take, sometimes. I still need to finish those last few activities, work on the game shell, and do a quick playtest. I'm going to give it my all (and expect to have a few really late nights this week), but I'm worried that I still might end up submitting a day or two late.

I had to post this because it's eating me up inside.
