Need feedback from EVERYONE about games made with RPG Maker

Even if you havent touched the software in six years, I still want to hear your opinions.

I simply want to know what you think the best games that you've played for any RPG Maker are, along with the worst.

you don't have to say why you're choosing the games, but you can if you want.

This is for an upcoming feature on the site that I'm sure a lot of people will like.

It is extremely important that I get as much input from people as possible. this isnt something that you should blow off just because you don't feel like doing it. I need this info.

Ooh! I'm on News Lab fourth quarter in school, and I was considering a side-by-side comparison of thre three makers. I'd like this info too, Valk
Ermm...I'm not sure I'm qualifed to comment because I've played so few, but I'd have to say my favorite game for RPGM2 is PsudeoOthello. It has a great attitude toward game making: a short, fun game that you would never pay for and can finish in an hour but feel like playing for two.

even if you've only played one game for RPG Maker, you're qualified to comment. this info is incredibly important to the future of the pavilion.

        Is The Spiteful Dead here?
        *checks*
        Yup, that's my favorite.

Trying to think of the worst game I've played, but most of the ones I chose to play weren't really that bad. No, wait, scratch that. I'd say Zelda: Link's Adventure. I know it was an early version CBS, but it was too clunky for me to really enjoy.

My favorite is still Isle of Lost Souls.

The worst was that broken ass smitpok ****. Who the hell thought that was a good idea?

              RPG Maker
Haven't had the chance to download any games for lack of a Dex Drive and PS1 memory cards.

              RPG Maker 2
              BEST:
-Tabloid (because it was a totally unique mini-movie, and I love science fiction.)
              LEAST FAVORITE:
-Musical Chores (demo) (It just didn't make sense to me and the whole monochrome walls thing was annoying.)
              OTHER COMMENTS:
The Faith of One - I played for about an hour. The beginning of the game was really cool and drew me right in. Because of time constraints, I didn't continue with it. Except for some spelling errors, it seemed like a pretty good game.
Tetris - nice. a classic. Played it multiple times. Then I remembered that I never was that great at Tetris.

              RPG Maker 3
              BEST:
-Whispers in the Woods (unique for RPG Maker 3. I didn't get all of the puzzles, but I enjoyed the experience)
-Series 1: Destiny Beckons (long game. multiple paths the story could take, satisfying to complete.)
(these were the first full RPG Maker 3 games (not counting Second to Last Fantasy XXVII) I ever downloaded, so they have a special place in my lineup)
              LEAST FAVORITE:
My least favorite game for RPG Maker 3 isn't here.
              OTHER COMMENTS:
Shadows of Torayu Demo - liked it. Played through the demo until I got the "perfect" ending.
A Series Aside -Unique demonstation of Perversion's creativity. Featured several Pav members, which was interesting.
Series 4: Episode 1 Teaser - No battles to worry about.
Frustrating at times (having to wait for "night"). Worth playing because of how it will help you when you play the full game (to be released later).

Should I still mention stuff if it's already been mentioned? If so favorites would be Spiteful Dead, Cursed Desires, FuFu the Acid Trip Bunny, Tabloid, Series 1 and Whispers in the Woods. I honestly couldn't name worsts because all the bad ones blend together in my head to the point I can't remember which was which.

of the two RM1 games I have played, I have to say Remote Control is the best.
                  1) Statement 2 is true
                  2) Statement 1 is false

Re: Need feedback from EVERYONE about games made with RPG Maker

It's topics like these that make me wish I played more of the games here. I guess now's a good excuse to load up a few games I've downloaded for RPGM3.

                    So far:
                    Favorites:
                    -Remote Control
-Forever's End (Surprised a little that nobody mentioned this gem of the early days of the Pavilion yet)
                    Least Favorites:
-Centurion (Not really a bad game, it just didn't hook me enough)

I'll probably have a bigger list later if I have time to play some other games.

Re: Need feedback from EVERYONE about games made with RPG Maker

i havent played anything remotely recent but the best games i played where the spiteful dead (this is my fav), expidition, eternal retardia, and remote control.

the worst are many but the winner has to be the game whats his face made, the guy who was tricked into thinking squaresoft wanted him to work for them cause they thought his game was so "good"

                      legend maybe?

oh god that was a sad game to play. i enjoy a bit of masicistic fun so i played it a bit and yeow!

edit: nanobot and grandoble where also good.

edit2: my memory is dust. rone made alot of good names, even made a custom save/repair for me once when i ran into a problem with his coding.

Re: Need feedback from EVERYONE about games made with RPG Maker

I feel awful, but I STILL don't have a DEX drive...so I've never gotten to play any RM1 games at all.

I only played 'Tabloid' for RM2, but I loved it.

As for 3...I think I've played every uploaded game, but it's really hard to pick a favorite or even a least-favorite.

                        - Series 1 is way up there (even though I have yet to finish it)
                        - Whispers in the Woods is awesome, even though it's really short.
                        - A game called 'First Snow' from a guy named 'Viridianedge' was my favorite RM3 game for a long time. The main characters are gay lovers, and the guy who made the game dropped off the face of the earth as soon as the game started getting some recognition. I LOVED the characters in that game, and the humor was intelligent, and really funny. I guess it's pointless to mention that one, since it's not uploaded anywhere, but oh well...I loved it. It's too bad that guy never discovered the Pavilion, because he'd find some support over here.

Like I said, I've enjoyed playing every RM3 game that I've played, but if I HAD to pick a least favorite, I would probably pick one of the ones that are SUPPOSED to be bad...but even those are great for the cheese lover in me.

                              Best:

                              Remote Control
                              Fu-Fu the Acid Trip Bunny
                              Purgatory
                              Checkers Plus

                              And for RPGM2, Tetris

I can't think of any I would want to put on the "worst" list. Not that there aren't any I didn't like, I just can't think of their names.
