NEW YORK COMPLAINS ABOUT RPG MAKER AND CALLS IT TWISTED

ts title alone is provoking waves of outrage: "Super Columbine Massacre RPG."

It is a video game — a role-playing game, to be exact — and it is about the Columbine High School shooting. So why does a victim of the shooting think it's worth playing? And what did the person who made this game really have in mind when he was creating it?

"You read 'video game' and 'Columbine,' and you think it's got to be awful," said Richard Castaldo, a 24-year-old former Columbine student who was shot several times and left paralyzed from the waist down in the 1999 massacre. Indeed, the recent publicity for the 1-year-old free PC game has elicited widespread condemnation.

The New York Post called it a "twisted game" and cited

it's made with RPG Maker 2000, and they called the game made "twisted", not RPG Maker.

It seems Simpleman only pasted a portion of the article and provided no link, either...

Other than the subject matter, it is not a very interesting game, apparently.

Perhaps he didn't post a link because the article isn't published online. I tried to find the New York Post article in question, but could only find references to it. The closest thing to what simple man posted is this. I personally think the idea of a video game made about the Columbine massacre is disgusting, and I'll leave it at that.

                          *deep breath*

                          IT'S SATIRE! ****!

I got in a huge argument with my parents a while back because they had a the same position as Wavelength. They wouldn't listen to a damn thing I had to say because "making a game about Columbine is wrong." Nevermind the reasons or intent behind the choice of creating such a game. You can't put up taboos over a subject just because your uncomfetable with it or give it some kind untouchable sanitcy because of a perverse sympathy you have for the victims. Maybe if you knew someone who was killed at Columbine or attended the school at the time I would understand you objecting the game purley based on it's subject. But look! Richard Castaldo, who was paralized by Klebold and Harris, understand what the game is. If he can play and think about the game without imediatly dissmissing it as "disgusting" then why can't you?

These same people who object to this game probably think the movie about 9/11 was a fantastic idea.
