If they can get a PS3, then ebay it for 800 bucks profit, that's like a whole month's worth of part time work for 2 days of camping.

Man. Must be great to have the cash for it. I mean what the hell we all have 700 bucks to blow. And what will we get for it? A huge black box that can float in the air and make toy dolls cry. By the way, that was one helluva creepy commercial for it. But thats beyond the point.

          Checklist before Ps3:
HDTV. If Im gonna spend seven hundred bucks, ah better damn well be gettin the most outta the picture. So might as well blow a couple thousand on that.

Wii: 200 bucks and a controller that makes me get some exercise in with my gaming. By the time Im done playing Zelda and some other random Wii games, there will probably be a game released for the PS3 worth havin.

X-box360: Since I got a HDTV, I'll finally be able to look at the freakin small as hell text on the screen. So then I'll be able to fully enjoy Gears of War and that zombie game. By the time im done with that, PS3 will be in stock and will have dropped 5 cents. Also they'll be over thier memory card shortage.

I wish you guys luck in your endeavors. It's an exciting time, when all is new with gaming again. Just make sure if you get one, you hire some armed guards.

You could learn from this, Valk. It's good clean fun that doesn't get anyone sticky.

Silly poeple, I am getting a Wii and I didn't even have to camp out for my preorder, I went there 10 minutes before opening and I was the 7th person to reserve one.

Yeah, I think I'm totally cool for it too.

going to the line of people waiting for star wars episode 1 and blasting them with super soakers full of apple juice from a car is one of my happiest memories.

I would agree that spraying them with juice is mean, because then they're stuck being sticky, which isn't cool. Now, if you had just lobbed a few hefty water balloons at them...

But I think camping out for stuff is silly. I've never done it, although I've been invited to do that for the Star Wars premieres. At the time, I was living in San Marcos, where I could go and see the movie at the first showing on opening day with no line at all.

If I could make a ton of money off the PS3, I might consider it. But I couldn't skip work for the pre-order, so I'll just point and stare.

But isn't E-Bay going to be so full of PS3 for sale, that you won't make a profit, minus the first couple sold....?

hope not. I am mainly doing this for profit.

UPDATE: camped over the night, Xeno is still in line there having been there all night. We got there at midnight last night and we're hoving around the 100 mark. We might not get one since they're only gauranteed 100, but we'll see. Xeno said he was willing to tough it out so I'll let him, I got the cash if he'll do the work, although I'll keep him company when I'm off work. We'll be splitting the profits (if there are).

I've never seen people camping for a movie or video game, but I have seen people camping for a furniture sale, twice.

I've camped for wrestling tickets. Usually was about the 6th-10th person in line, cause these other folks and these two scalpers would get there 2 days before they went on sale. But yeah, I'd get some good seats, usually second row ringside. But you would have to deal with the weather, which would be ok unless it was either raining or taking place in the winter. Bums, cause this would take place down in the city, so you would get people walking asking "what are you in line for?" but the most asked question was " do you have any change?" The drudgery... it got easier after taking some reading material and a Gameboy. YOu also had to prepare to sit on some concrete for a few hours ((unless you brought a chair!)) Fun, fun times.

I pre-ordered my PS3, but I get the insane feeling that I need to hop on over there as soon as I get off work tomorrow.

Problem is I have to work again tomorrow night, and I'm all out of vacation time.

I've never camped out for anything and I doubt I ever will. I read on Joystiq people started camping out as early as last week but they got shooed away. Considering how some places aren't getting the PS3s they were promised and can't even fill their preorders it seems like it's nearly a lost cause. There's rumblings that they won't be fulfilling the 400k mark like they didn't meet the 100k in Japan. I'm actually glad I don't want one so I don't have to be all disappointed about not being able to get one.
