Can I get Banned???

On Call of Duty 4 I "Hacked" to change the color of my name. It dosn't violate the user agreement, but its still hacking, can i get banned for it?

if its something not intended in normal game play then yes, you can be banished for it. its covered in the license agreement, its called de-engineer (something along this line) the game which is a violation of every games TOS. it basicly means you cannot reverse engineer the code and then use it (alter the code).

I've never heard of anyone being banned from it. I would think nothing would happen because it dosn't increase my gaming ability at all. As far as re-writing game code, I used Hex Editor Mojo, Which I learned from watching a movie on youtube. So before that I had no idea how to re-write coding.

because you havent seen others banished does not mean they wont banish you. maybe they havent cracked down on it yet? you asked if you can get banished for it and i told you yes.

using a hex editor to manipulate the code is definably a violation of all game agreements so expect that if they decide to crack down on it, they will and will do so without mercy or warning. advantage doesnt have much to do with banishments, the violation of the agreement is whats important.

if it's just changing the color, i don't see why anyone would report you. You're not harming the actual flow of game play.

If it's a type of hack that benefits you into winning, people will report you and you'll likely be banned.

I think it's foolish to even take the risk over something so trivial. Yeah, you changed the color of your name, but you may end up not even being able to play. That hardly seems worth it.
