Around 4,000 words now. I think it will be 6000-6500 total when it's done.

A few more beats went by without either talking when Adam suddenly asked, “What do you think of Arc?”

“Huh? About Arc?!” Cay asked, wondering what he could mean.

“Well, what kind of guy is he?”
Cay decided to probe a little more, now that she had caught him with his pants down, so to speak. “Haven’t you ever done the same thing?”

Silence, then, “…No…” Adam reluctantly mumbled.

Cay was a little surprised. “You mean you haven’t courted a girl, ever?!” she asked, incredulous.

“It’s been tough!” Adam exclaimed, defensively. “We’re always on the move and doing dangerous things… plus I’m poor and I have my training to keep up on! I don’t have time!”

“But hasn’t there ever been a girl you WANT to make time for?”

“I don’t wanna talk about this,” he sulked.

Re: CWS Discussion: The Next Generation.

Probably won't be too much of a problem, since Mora is after Ryu, anyways.

EDIT: Whoops, I read that wrong. I thought it said June 8th, not 18th. That might be an issue. If Ryu and Mora have both their additions finished before then (and it would be so cool if they did), I will gladly take the spot and you can write after me.

Re: CWS Discussion: The Next Generation.

It's time for another addition of GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS.

                    GOOD NEWS first:
I'm finished doing the chronological editing of the entire CWS3 up to this point! It's been an interesting 548 pages, and I'm relieved it's over. I'll have the super funtabulous USELESS STATISTICS ready to post next week.

                    BAD NEWS:
I have some backediting that must be done. There are a few things that Mora and I have discussed that require changing throughout the story, but it'll only take me a day's worth of editing to accomplish. They were tiny little continuity errors that we never noticed before, and I have a list of... four that need to be changed. I'll be doing that on Monday after I post the final back addition, and on Tuesday, I'll prepare the Useless Statistics for official Discussion topic posting.

So it's not really bad news at all. Just neutral news.

I will say this: Ryu is still the overall word count leader, but not by very much. Seems that Mora, with his two additions in a row, and his stupendously long addition, has very nearly caught up to him. I'm one addition's worth of words from catching Mora, and Omni is still number 4 in the standings. But Magik is quickly catching up!

                    That's all for now.

It seems as though my initial estimates were extremely close. With the exclusion of the entire portion of Talus's reminiscing, the story stands at 437 pages with book formatting. With Talus's scene, it would have been 439 pages. My initial estimation of 440 pages was almost 100%. Go me. Anyway, tomorrow, I'll be fixing up those few continuity errors throughout the story, and the day after that, I'll see about getting the Useless Statistics up to date and posted.

Re: CWS Discussion: The Next Generation.

Alright, here are the things that needed changing and how I changed them. I didn't change them for the forum, as it wasn't really necessary, but the formatted version of the story has been changed appropriately.

                          1. First concept was the idea that Guillermo has this ability to 'sense' people and things' presences. After careful review of everything that contributes to this idea, I've decided that nothing needs to be changed, because while you can try to infer that he does have this special 'extra' sense, it's easier to infer that he's just using his new enhanced touch sensitivity to vibrations to figure out who's around. He wouldn't use it all the time because he's still getting used to it. It is important, however, to note that from the current point of the story, people shouldn't be able to jump out and go BOOGA BOOGA to surprise and scare him, as he would know they were there already.

                          2. The point I made about Magik's addition with Talus's background negated this need. It was the inclusion of one of Talus's sons - Darius - that sparked a problem, initially. We have a Trenton Darius on the High Council of Anteron, and it doesn't do to have overlapping names in stories for independent people. This has been solved because I removed the entire portion that focuses on Talus, removing the mention of his son, Darius.

                          3. This concept occurred in the 3rd Book, Ryu's addition, page 131 of the formatted version. I quote:

At Sasha’s resting point lay the occasional slab of stone, and a dilapidated wooden fence with a door to its gate missing surrounded it in sketchy stretches. It was probably an abandoned cemetery, and laying eyes on the black, dead trees that checkered the site, anyone would have called it a cemetery for trees as well. Sasha wandered past a dirty clump of logs that used to be a cabin and found their airship. She smiled; despite their recent rift in opinion, she and Aleksi thought very much alike when it came to plotting. The airship now had two mammoth wings attached to it with a harpoon gun under each of them, as well as an artillery cannon sticking out from the back of the ship. Now she knew what exactly Aleksi had been out doing the night before they left Baines: knowing that they might need the extra firepower, he must have hired one of the groups of rogue mechanics they had dealings with in the past to perform the upgrade and then drop it off here—at their hidden relay point for all of their operations around Baines, just outside of the normal routes for the towns wandering hunters and travelers. With its battering ram retracted, the airship had looked pedestrian and innocent enough while it was parked in Baines, but with its new weapons, it would have aroused suspicion, so Aleksi had it delivered here. They also needed the ship as small and light as possible for smuggling it aboard The Inspiration. Knowing the enhancements (and the repairing of the damages done to the craft while in the Zephyr Gate) would take a couple days to finish, and that Sasha would eventually compulsively want to find the airship, Aleksi had cunningly arranged for this all to happen.

About to enter, Sasha was suddenly interrupted by a whistle of one of the two meddlers that she knew had been following her. She had playfully thought it wise to lead them as far away from their other three companions as possible. She turned to face them—they were only thirty feet away—and nonchalantly drew her scythe.
After some fact-checking, realization washed over me when I realized that a later addition by Mora, page 201 of the formatted version, and subsequently the following addition by IRC on page 203, ended up slightly messing this fact up. I quote:

                          From Mora -
“Hey, Aleksi scratches my back, I scratch his, you know? As for your other question, I know enough. But I’m not stupid enough to go prying into that, myself, though. If you guys want to revolutionize the world, that’s your business. Just don’t screw up mine, right?”

Sasha massaged her temples with her fingers. Aleksi had brought in someone new without consulting her – for the second time. They were going to have a little “talk” soon, that much was for certain.
                          From IRC -
Sasha sat at the end of the pier watching Dedalus work on the airship. It seemed that everything that had been happening since she and Aleksi had left Solis Du Teplo had formed a dull ache right behind her temples. And now this Dedalus guy was working on the airship and she knew nothing about it. It was almost enough to make her cry. But that hadn’t happened since she had met Aleksi, and that business with the red-head didn’t count, so far as she concerned herself. Instead, she closed her eyes and began to mentally organize all the things that were bothering her. For starters, Bastraglon was tagging along with them now, and she figured the only person who wouldn’t be unnerved by him was Aleksi. There were only a few members of their group that she knew of, fewer than five dozen in fact, so she had never seen Bastraglon before, and was not used to him. She doubted she ever would be. Bastraglon had been with the organization for decades and the effect Dobbel had on him was apparent. Aside from his looks, his mind was also affected. It seemed like he would retreat into some far corner of it at times, and then pop out unexpectedly to make some random comment. She wouldn’t be surprised if he had been sitting motionless in Solis Du Teplo for months. She could go for a few days without food or water now and Aleksi longer still, so who knew how often Bastraglon ate or drank.
The dissention from Aleksi that Sasha had kept doing is slightly driven by this later in the story. To avoid messing with far more of the story than I needed, I opted to insert a small paragraph into Ryu's page 131 addition that asserts her disgruntlement, but allows for the thought to slip away for the time being, The addition is bolded.

Despite her smirk, she found herself slightly annoyed that – while she would have done the same – Aleksi didn’t divulge any of the plotting or plans to her. They were not equals, true enough, but Aleksi seemed to enjoy leaving her out of things. At present she did not have time to dwell on this, and so pushed it aside.

About to enter, Sasha was suddenly interrupted by a whistle of one of the two meddlers that she knew had been following her. She had playfully thought it wise to lead them as far away from their other three companions as possible. She turned to face them—they were only thirty feet away—and nonchalantly drew her scythe.
That almost completely fixes the problem with minimal editing, and I inserted an afterthought in Mora's page 201 addition to complete the thought. Edit is bolded:

Sasha massaged her temples with her fingers. Aleksi had brought in someone new without consulting her – for the second time. They were going to have a little “talk” soon, that much was for certain
                          4. Several times throughout Arguile and Hardin's flight to follow Gjigrajheth, Arguile focuses his thoughts on Malachai and what happened to him, wondering if he was okay, if he had found Guillermo, etc. In my page 234 addition, I completely left that idea on the floor to stomp on it, and Arguile never puts another thought towards Malachai. I quote:

“Arguile, you old dog! I can’t believe you’re still alive. It’s hard to believe after witnessing that attack,” Arc said excitedly.

Arguile said, “It’s good to see you two alive and well. But what happened to Guillermo? Did Malachai capture him? And who are your friends?” Arc and Seek introduced Acacia, Adam, and Elise, and they told the story about how Malachai’s ship was destroyed and Guillermo and the cult members were taken captive. Arguile then filled them in on what was happening in Antaross and how urgent it was to get back.

Seek got back to the subject at hand. “Captain, we understand the risk involved in going to Antaross, but we have to go. Will you allow us on the ship?”

Arguile sighed and shook his head. “I’m proud of you two. You have a friend and you want to save him. I respect that, and even though I don’t want any of you dying, I will let you all on my ship. We’re leaving shortly, though, so you’d better be ready to go when we are."

“Excuse me, Captain Arguile?" interrupted Adam, "Prince Ordic and the other three ships… they are the monster hunters, correct?”

                          “Well, yes, they are.”

“Would it be all right if we traveled on one of those ships instead? I realize you probably want to catch up with Seek and Arc further, but they asked us to train them as Hunters, so their time would be best spent with us, and we wish to talk with some of the other monster hunters to further our own skills.”

“Yes, I suppose I can arrange that. I’ll talk with Hardin and get it worked out. Now, if you all will excuse me, I have some important things to do. Good seeing you again, Seek, Arc. Nice meeting you Adam, Acacia, and Elise.”

They parted ways and waited for the sign to board ship.
Nowhere after this point does Arguile wonder or worry about Malachai, nor does he seem to care that his former crewmates had a hand in overthrowing Malachai. The bolded text is what I did to fix this.

Arguile winced noticeably during the bit about Malachai, but said nothing of it, filling them in on what was happening in Antaross and how urgent it was to get back.
To further fix this problem, I added some text to the narration when it's fixed upon Arguile's perspective in my same addition. Bolded text is new, and nothing else has changed.

A hundred yards ahead of Hardin’s ship flew Arguile’s ship. On the deck stood Captain Arguile, replaying Seek and Arc’s tale of flight from Malachai. At the time, he had stared dumbfounded listening to an unbelievable story. He hadn’t reacted on the spot, but was relieved to hear that Malachai’s ship was downed, but not so much that Malachai himself would be downed. It pained him to think of his former crewmen having a hand in his old friend’s rotten failure, but couldn’t blame them more than anything else. If luck was with them, Malachai would already be in Antaross gearing up for the attack. He mused that the difference between good luck and bad luck blurred quite well in this situation, as he didn’t know which manner of luck would bring the two of them to a fierce battlefield. He feared nothing more than to make it to Antaross too late and it be in complete disarray or worse, completely destroyed.
That was the lot of them. I hope they've been fixed to your satisfaction.

EDIT: I forgot a couple of minor things that I changed. I replaced every instance of Dobbel's "yur" with "your" instead. The overall count of times it was used in the story as "yur"? 47. I also completely removed the placemarkers in asterisks below every addition title, as they proved quite pointless. 92 additions worth of those removed several pages from the story, and we're down to 433 pages now overall.

                            More good news/bad news!

The bad news is that I left out two whole additions during my 'formatted version' copy/pasting. I left one of Ryu's from Book 2, and Magik's return addition from Book 3. They've both been reinserted into the formatted version, and it now stands at 447 pages long. That's the official page number for everything we've done insofar.

The good news is that I'm getting the Useless Statistics ready to post up, and will do so in about an hour!

                              _____

Well, that's everything I have so far. I am, far as I'm concerned, completed with the editing procedures.

I'd like to give myself a very special EDITOR OF THE YEAR AWARD for taking the limited free time I had to complete a task of this magnitude knowing well I wasn't going to get any money or anything for doing it.

Thank you all for bearing with me and my HUNDREDS of posts in this topic.
