    Re: The official Hrafn topic

Boo hoo. The Ryner is annoyed. The Hrafn is disturbed. The Hrafn will learn someday.

      Re: The official Hrafn topic

Hrafn is irritated by emoticons and Internet lingo, yet he does not verbally assault those who use such (or at least, he does not do so outside of his own forums). He keeps a civil tongue in his head, and if he feels he must remark on the offending posts, he does so politely. Hrafn laments that some Pavilion members seem unable to manage a similar level of basic respect, and questions how such people function in the real world, where tact is so essential. If indeed they do at all.

However, Hrafn has found some members of this forum not to be lacking in simple courtesy (Hrafn dares not say common courtesy, given what a rarity it is here), so do not take this as a condemnation of all the Pavilion. Just what appears to be the majority of it on the off-topic forums I have frequented.

The Hrafn doesn't seem to understand that tact isn't essential in the real world, and that most people appear to lack it and still functioning just fine.

The Hrafn shouldn't lament these pavilion members, but work with them or alternatively leave them be. Likewise with the other members such as The Ryner, among others.

Hrafn has not yet referred to himself as The Hrafn; what do you think Hrafn is, a freak?!?

Hrafn is aware the average janitor and factory worker lacks such fundamentals (after all, Hrafn has been both in his life, though Hrafn prefers to refer to these jobs as 'interior/exterior maitenance specialist at a government facility' and 'pastry extrication engineer', respectively), but to truly succeed, both in business and personal relationships, one should at least display a modicum of tact and restraint. And what are forums if not a microcosm of actual society? Well, not a truly accurate one, since society actually has women, but you get the idea.

You talk in the third-person, that is incredibly lame. You've also pretty much said you're in character, that is equally lame. How are we supposed to give you respect when you act so dumb?

I respect a lot of people at this forum. they're some of the smartest, wittiest, most talented bastards you'll ever find on the face of this earth, let alone on the internet. but the reason I respect them isn't because they try to flaunt that they're smart or witty or talented. they're genuine, and that's what makes them smart, witty, talented, etc. and when I look at your posts, I just see this snooty, high and mighty dickhead that feels like he has something to prove. I'm not saying that's the kind of person you are, but that's definitely how you come across. and it's extremely off-putting.

Do not worry; the horse may be high, but Hrafn is tall, Josh, and Hrafn always lands on his feet, so Hrafn thinks he can survive the fall well enough.

Character? Everything Hrafn has said as Hrafn is exactly what he would have said without being Hrafn. If Hrafn is in character, he has been in character for as long as he can remember. Hrafn simply affected a posting quirk that apparently overshadows the worth of his posts themselves. And apparently this was sufficient justification for people to flame Hrafn instead of choosing any of the more mature and reasonable options. Since Hrafn suspects these options are beyond the ability of his detractors to comprehend, he will oblige and spell them out:

                  1. Ignore Hrafn. Though mentioning that you are doing so is pretty much a cheap ploy for attention, actually doing it is reasonable. Someone's bugging you, so walk away.

                  2. Ask Hrafn politely to tone back his errant urges. Hrafn has seen a bit of this, and would likely have been happy to eventually acquiesce had this not become about a bit more than a simple post style preference.

                  3. Accept that Hrafn is not your optimal idea of a forumgoer and read his posts anyway. Nobody's perfect, and Hrafn is no exception. But if you wish only to read the posts of those members whom you consider ideal Hrafn suspects your iggy list will grow quite long indeed.

                      4. Hrafn stops being a stuck-up snob who talks in the third person and blames others for not being intelligent enough to look past the fact that he's a stuck-up snob who talks in the third person.

I don't have to much to say, so I'll just repeat what I said in the Rocky topic.

Hrafn... I want to like you, even if out of pity, but I find every one of your posts annoying.

Hrafn is making Jamos angry... Jamos is angry! Jamos smash!!! JAMOS SMASH!!!!

I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

I don't mind Hrafn. The only thing that bothers me is his name. HRAFN.

                          (how do you pronounce it?)

You seek to antagonize Hrafn simply because he does not fit into your idea of a poster, and Hrafn is the snob? Hrafn is overwhelmed by the irony. And what makes Hrafn snooty, josh? Is it because he prefers not to lower himself to base name-calling over such a trivial matter, as certain others are all too willing to do? If so, perhaps Hrafn is guilty.

That would be ha-rahf-en. Bugger, Hrafn isn't used to attempting to spell out pronunciations, but he thinks that should convey the proper pronunciation as Hrafn heard it. Though Hrafn has not heard it recently, so his memory might be fuzzy.

because you just assume that we're all idiots who can't appreciate your five dollar words and quirkiness because, and you're too afraid to say it, but it's obvious that you think we're all a bunch of poorly educated video game nerds. you think you're just blowing our minds with a vocabularly that shows that you're smart, when really, to me, it just shows you had a lot of free time. maybe that's because you're a pompous asshole?
