NEW CONTEST.

It starts TODAY and ends June 30th. (Yet another extension? Yeah. see here for why)

The theme is "Pavilionite Biography".

It's very simple. Pick a pavilion member or a group of members, past or present, and make a game about them. It can be any type of game that you want. Epic, Garbage, Movie, whatever. You can spend just an hour on it if you want. it can take longer to download than it does to play. doesnt matter. It doesnt have to be accurate, it doesn't have to be flattering. If you want to make a game making fun of people, go for it. You can portray the target(s) any way you choose. Everyone here has a good sense of humor and can take it.

Rules:

1. If information was ever posted in a private forum/social group, IM, PM, or anywhere that privacy is to be expected, you may not include it in your game. But anything that has ever happened in a public forum is fine.
2. You can submit as many games as you want, just as long as they feature different members.
3. If they ever posted at the pavilion, they're fair game. No one is off limits, no matter how much they complain and beg to be left out.
4. There is no limit to the number of members you can target in one game.
5. The game's title must include the (primary) target's username.
6. The (primary) target must be a main character, but doesnt have to be a playable character (could be the main bad guy).
7. You can make a game about yourself, if you desire.
8. You may use any of the console RPG Makers, or RPG Maker XP or VX.

About content:
Good natured ribbing, mocking, joking, stuff like that is fine. Nothing flamey, nothing with malicious intent, made just to insult the person or make them mad.

Prize will be determined by number of entries.

Entries will be submitted via the normal submission forums. their titles alone will let people know that they are a game in the contest.

except me, if yet again no one/one person enters.

This is the only idea I could think of that could stir up activity, and get a good turnout. sure, an "anything goes" or "garbage" contest gets a decent turnout every time, but this is specifically designed to possibly get people working with RPG Maker who may have given up on it long ago. and if that actually happens, I will be very happy, and it would likely be reflected in the prize.

I'm still stuck in the 'Pavilion Gameshow' genre, but another episode of Pavilion Iron Chef, or maybe Pavilion Jeopardy would both break 2 or 3 contest rules.

Maybe if it was "Blitzball Jeopardy", or the like? I mean, if I took one pavilionite and made a gameshow-style game based on them, would that work? It's just that if I used 12 people in the game, there really wouldn't be a 'main person'.

...unless I cheated and called episode 2 "Crunk-Master Iron Chef: Episode 2".

You might not want me to enter what's basically the same game, mechanics-wise, as one I've already made for another contest though.

Plus it really doesn't seem like either game would really fit into the spirit of the contest, but you tell me, Valk.

In any case it's a cool idea, and if I don't use those ideas I can come up with some more. I'm really thinking I'd want to make my OWN pavilion game show though, but that's a whole other drawing board.

They would be "about" pavilion members, yes?

really, the most basic requirements are that the game features a pavilion member in a main role, and that the main target's username is in the title. you could do a "*insert username here* edition" or whatever.

considering I actually used Pavilion Iron Chef as inspiration for this contest, I really cant think of a way it would break any rules.

You can pick as many as you want (and make as many games as you want, so long as the primary target is different), and multiple people can target the same user.

Okay, maybe not. AHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!! Yer gonna have a rough time "doing" me due to the first rule.

EDIT 2: Question...are we allowed to reference certain now-infamous quotes, phrases, etc, if we do not detail who or what they refer to? You know, like a "pop-culture" reference without directing it at any given person.

Oh, this is tricky. if it's referencing something from a private forum, if there's even the slightest chance that anyone not familiar with the origin of the quote could figure out who it came from, then no.

I think you should totally figure out some kind of way to make Pavilion Survivor into a RM game somehow.

But if emotes don't break the playground rule, then I can't see why we shouldn't use them...?
