    Wildfires in Georgia

It's been going on for a while now, but I didn't say anything cuz I figured it'd only be temporary. But this stuff has been directly affecting me and Kirin. The smoke from middle GA blows south west and covers our town.

It's especially bad tonight. It's so thick I can't see for 100 feet, and ash is falling from the sky. I had a headache from just standing outside for 3 minutes.

When the sun's out, I could look straight at it and it'd be some red ball, and the sky turns yellow. It's like armaggeddon.

What's worse is, I work outdoors. This kinda stuff is a health hazard, y'know? Like second hand smoke or something.

I wonder how far the fires will get. It's been so dry in GA thanks to the weather changes, and dry winds just spread fire. And since the smoke is blowing here, it's only natural to think that the fires are heading in the same direction.

Oh well, it's an excuse to wear a gas mask at least.
    ...and that's why.

Hmm, guess I miss all of that living in south metro Atlanta. Maybe I should start watching the news or something. Well good luck on getting a gas mask. It does seem like it hasn't rained a lot in the past few months here.

Plus I'm not really outside much.

I guess people with breathing problems (asthma, COPD, etc) that live in that area are really screwed.

Hopefully they will get them under control before it gets any worse.

I hope the fire doesn't reach where you are....

A gas mask. Lucky you. I've wanted one ever since one of those got passed around my classroom a few years ago. And it wasn't just a gask mask, it was a full-scale gas helmet.

I'm not worried about them at all. I'm not even sure as to where they are. I don't really watch local news, it's disenfranchising to see how many of my neighbors are rapists/murderers now.

Brush Fires are actually a pretty normal environmental occurence down south. It helps clear out old stuff and help grow new plants. Palm trees actually have fairly long trunks to help protect themselves from Grass fires.

                          Keep safe Den.

I used to own a WWII gas mask I got from a thrift store. I wore it with a wig and a shiny shirt while going through a White Castle drive through oncce to freak the guy at the counter out. Then I asked him for a canned ham. He told me they didn't have any.
