Terra Incognita: Trophy List & Roadmap

Terra Incognita: Episode I, II, III - Trophy List & Roadmap
    1 3 8 13

This implementation is designed solely for the purpose of letting you know if there's more things to find in my game. Through the use of variables, I'll track your progress and the game will let you know via a pop up message and SFX when you earn a trophy.

When you earn a trophy, you can check your key item inventory to view them. The descriptions will list what you did to earn it, the number of the trophy out of the total number, and the trophy's name. (Which is the name of the key item.) It should be noted the following list is NOT finalized and is more of a work-in-progress that will change as the first Episode nears completion.

Anyone else like the idea of the trophy system? Any thoughts on things I could change, or things I've done well? Well, if you do... Post a message and let me know!

Trophy system is a cool idea, but in the future I'd say put your efforts elsewhere and don't bother making a big list like this. It's not the most interesting thing and people would rather get more content about the game.

I already have an entire thread for that.

*Edit: Normally, I would have focused my efforts elsewhere... But other than the implementation of the trophy system, there's really not to much new going on. Unless you count the touch-ups I've done to the storyteller events, some graphical tweaking and implementing the Courage/Speech/Wisdom dialogue tree choices in addition to the already implemented Karma speech challenges? I don't want to be like Redeye and post everytime I make a new attack for a character.

I personally like the idea, but I would suggest at least using different trophy graphics. Ya know so it isn't a total ripoff of the PS3 trophy system. Or perhaps medals instead of trophies. Just giving my two cents.

I think it's a cool idea. "One Man Scouting Party" is my favorite one; it rewards doing something cool that most players aren't going to do naturally.

Since players won't have any real way to show these off online, I'd suggest having something cool in-game (besides a trophy) that you get for completing these. Perhaps something like the New Game + features in the Tales Of games (buy upgrades for future games using trophies you've accumulated), or the "cheats" you could earn in Banjo-Kazooie once you've collected almost all the collectibles in the game (e.g. rooms with unlimited health or ultimate weapons, that are only accessible if you have a certain number of trophies).

It's supposed to be a ripoff - I'm not denying it. Regardless of what I call it, a massive ripoff it still is. The only real difference is that my system is for letting players know there's still Quests to do, or monsters to kill, or treasures to find, etc.

This is an interesting idea, and while I wouldn't give too many prizes for the menial trophies, I could hand out rewards for the bigger ones. For instance, I could create a house in the survivor's camp (game's main hub) that gives you rewards based on the amount of work the trophy is.

I already have numerous unique items, weapons and armors available for other things - what's a few more! I could also hand out EXP bonuses and perhaps some boosts to the main stats, or the Courage/Wisdom/Speech/Karma STATS?

Eh, I understand. To be honest I've planned on doing the exact same thing on numerous game attempts. Hell, if I can actually finish a game I would still try it.

The only reason I opted for something like this is because it's pretty difficult to know if there's more things to do in a world of the scale I'm shooting for. So naturally, I needed a solution - and in came trophies.
