So I'm far enough along now that there's no turning back. I still have my doubts that I'm going to finish before the deadline, but I'm going to give it my all, and finish it either way. And in the meantime, enjoy some teaser text:
Perversion and Paper
RPG Maker 3
While surfing the internet before work, Perversion stumbles upon an ad for the Sony Plasmagasm High-Definition TV. Now, being that this is Perversion, he has to have it. There's only one problem: the TV is $2800 and it's only on sale until next week. Perversion's got one week to work, play, carouse, and bolster his bank account to make his dream come true.
Every day you'll either have work or have your choice of a few different activities, such as "Go see a friend" or "Local game show". This choice will lead you to one of several scenes, action minigames, or dialogue trees which fit that category. These all feature either Pavilionites or original characters (and, in a couple cases, celebrities and characters from Hell's Dining Room). Some can earn you cash; others might net you items which you can auction off on eBay.
Here is the current set of planned activities that involve Pavilionites. All Pavilionites featured (except for single-line cameos) are listed with the activity they appear in.
Customer Service - Sezjeuric, Raithwall
Treasure Hunt - Sejon Sol
Boiling Point - Simple Man, Lord Cohliani, Valkysas
Like Watching Paint Dry - Wavelength
Don't Give Up - Gloom
What the Pho? - Pagerron
Spelling Be - Karr
Face Off - Alzar, Big Rick Cook
Short Leish's Stories - Leish
Reversal of Fortune - Obright
Technical Wizardry - Thutmose
Indie Pants - Toaster
Rep Battle - JPS
Nippon Chips - Bonanza
The Bad Side of Town - Terr
Bonus Scene - ???
Bonus Scene 2 - ???
I tried to walk the fine line between fair-to-the-point-of-boring and outright slander. For most of you, at least.
But if you're listed here and you honestly don't feel comfortable being featured in the game, let me know and I will honor your request. Also, if you appear here (or you ARE Perversion), and you have a preference as to which 2D sprite you'd like to represent you, let me know; otherwise I'll pick one for you based on your avatar, pictures (if posted), and personality.
Random number generators are working behind the scenes to make sure your game is never the same twice. Also, many events will require the roll of a 20-sided die, Pen-and-Paper RPG style. Your Intelligence, Patience, or Communication stat might be added based on context, which is why it will be important to build your stats up alongside your bank account.
You guys are going to enjoy this.
