The Hammer may be a bunker busting bomb or somthing like that. Nuclear bomb wouldn't make any sence for the fact that we are seeing the tape. Also the fact that the government wouldn't want to wipe out the whole north-eastern USA for 1 monster. I actually thought The Hammer was the Carpet bomber though.

Well they can use small nukes, there are tactical ones you know they're not all whole city/state leveling ICBMs. But after carpet bombing what is there? MOAB? I mean if a volley a bombs from a B-2 doesn't take something out where would you go from there. But I guess it could have been a MOAB depending on how recent the movie is supposed to be set. Though at the ending there were multiple blasts, so I guess they could have just used more bombs, but that would seem silly. I have a feeling we'll never know the real answer though.

I wouldn't be suprised if they did a second movie doing the first one set in the perspective of a soldier or somthing.

I've been hearing this move has a disclaimer warning saying that some people could go through "motion sickness," or something.

I'm sure we'll be sick of the Cloverfield franchise pretty soon.

At my theater there were notices taped over the doors warning people about that. They said some people might feel like they were on a rollercoaster. The movie itself has no disclaimer.

Definetly my favorite part in the movie. Especially because I was looking a the screen really closely.

I didn't notice the motion sickness thing. I actually found it a lot easier to watch what was going on than Transformers.

We don't even know if the monster actually died from the Hammer. How the movie ends, there is no sure way to know if the attack was successful. The monster could have survived that too and continued onward. At least they could go about it that way to make a sequel. I liked the film, but we don't really need a sequel.

the monster DID survive. there's garbled audio at the end of the credits that, when played backwards, says "it's still alive"

they're already thinking about a sequel, set during the same night from the perspective of another camera.

I don't know if I want to see the camera bit rehashed. Maybe a fake conspiracy documentary or something. Or even just a straight up movie. But not another group of kids running around with a camera.

Seeing a straight up classic movie would be an interesting counter-point to it, but it would have to explicitly state where the monster came from and all that, and that would kinda ruin the sense of mystery around it.

Bah, to your sense of mystery. It's either from space or from the sea. What are they going to do? Say it's from Idaho?

I bet you just don't want them to say explicitly that it's not Chtulu.
