    RPGM3 bugs?

Well, I believe I've ran into a few actual bugs, some temporary, some permanent. Let me know if you've found a way to fix them or if you don’t experience them at all.

    1) When using the text box to describe an Item/skill/spell, the (letter/number) Character counter says you have a maximum of 128 characters you can use for description. But when you play the game in play test mode, or game mode,
The ITEM/SKILL/SPELL DESCRIPTION ONLY DISPLAYS UP TO 89 CHARACTERS!
So it made it look like I just wrote part of a sentence, and then just stopped typing partway through. I had to go in and shorten many of my descriptions after discovering this.

    2) Auto triggering events. I made a room where there were 6 artifact points (each with a different item on them visually), and in each the same event code where mode 1 was an auto trigger for display off (so when you walk into the room, the object disappears). Mode 2 is button trigger, with a message "here rests Special Item X". So I have 6 Events all saying "turn my display off" when entering the room. I would Guess that the result of this to be
That either all of them will disappear, or RPGM 3 would only recognize the first one it finds and shut only that one off.

It’s neither. Randomly, any of them could disappear. Maybe none of them. Maybe some, maybe all. It could be different each time I walk in the room. It would tend to be less than more would be gone.

The auto triggering system seems a little goofy when more than 1 are in place.

    3) Event changes/Play testing. Sometimes if you change a feature of an event,
Then go and play test it doesn't change. Not with text, but some other aspects, like Name display.
Example: I play tested a town, where there was a guard named "New Character 27". (Whoops). So I go to People mode and change hit name to
"Guard Brutis". Go back to play test/continue. His name is still "New Character 27".
Go back to People mode, check Guard Brutis, Yep his name is there...But it’s not changing in the game...WTF? I go to play test/start, modify position to the town, and sure enough, there is his name "Guard Brutis"

    4) I make a door and a key and put them together, and in the process of making a dungeon I make and Delete other unrelated items, and then in play testing the key won’t unlock the door. I delete the key and door and remake them and put them together again and they work.

I have noticed in multiple areas of the game that if you delete something, (Mostly I'm talking about items) it effects the "alignment" of other items, SOMETIMES. And Sometimes, if you just go and check these other items, the game says "NO DATA AVAILIBLE", even though its right there on the screen, and once you reconfirm or re-SAVE it, all seems normal.

It’s like it gets confused in the process of making and deleting.

I welcome anyone to share similar experiences, OR if can shed some light on these things that would be great.

    Re: RPGM3 bugs?

I am not exactly sure if this was suppose to be the way it would work but, when I first made a town I said no magic can be used. Later I test fought an NPC and I couldn't use magic so I went and changed it so magic was allowed. It still would not let me use magic on him. I don't know why it wouldn't but it was annoying. I am going to try saving it and trying to get back into it to see if that has any effect.

This is very minor and doesn't effect much, but you can't erase walls in the dungeon editor that are on the edge of the map making part of it.

Sometimes, when you change the features during the game, you need to restart the game from scratch. The reason is because in the old save it recognized it as something else. When you restart the game, the new properties will take effect.

As for you number auto triggering stuff, just make 1 auto event that modifies all the modes to the other events.

Yeah that is pretty much a problem in all RPGMs. Usually it's restricted to character information. If you at first had a person at L1, you played through some of the game, found out that the person needs to be at L8 when he joins and change his level to 8, he'll still be at L1 because the gameplay save file saved the old level and doesn't recognize the change.

Now get this. This made me really mad. I don't no if it was something my brother known as rpgmakerisstupid did but the map editor is all freaky. He went way past the border thing to the map editor and it wouldn't let him preview it anywhere. It wasn't just the red line border it was the brown border. He was off of the flat map thing. So I told him just to make another one from scratch. He did this and it was better but it still wouldn't let him place his character. I had him turn it off and reload it then try it again. Still he couldn't preview it. He tried to load the sample map and he could only preview the rock area. The rest had changed to water. Now does anyone know what the heck he did. I hope he didn't mess up the game for life. Oh but he did like rpg maker 3. He thought it was really easy to use. Luckly the map on my memory card still works ok.

                Re: RPGM3 bugs?

Is anyone else mad besides me about another small but incredibly stupid oversight? I understand this when doing inside dungeons, and character fights where you have to pick specific backgrounds from a list, but what is with the snow/rain/thunder/lightning etc stopping when you enter a battle in the field? It REALLY ruins the effect of the game when it is pouring outside, and then you enter a battle, and it is just cloudy and dark, and then you emerge victorious from the battle and it goes right back to pouring, or when it is winter and snowing, but you enter a battle and it is green grass and cloudy.

Another annoying thing is, did anyone notice when you kill a character or monster, or one of your characters die, they fall, and then a moment later, their bodies will face a different direction, or default direction when that is not the way they fell? it really takes away from the image.

I don't exactly know. It seems to be working fine for me now. I will have to watch what he does to make sure he isn't doing anything that would make it do that.

Edit: It is exactly opposite of what I thought. You have to have something go all the way to the very edge of the map past what you are able to go on.
