I personally have nothing against the guy. We DID get off to a bad start at the Game FAQs/Gamespot RPGM3 forums, and I've talked to him via PM a number of times. He's an okay guy, but he's REALLY sensitive, and as demonstrated here, ANY little bit of criticism is taken as a personal attack.
He mentioned earlier in the thread about putting all the disclaimers in posts to try to pre-empt any negative perceptions. Well, as most of you are well aware, I do not normally do that. But in this thread, I had to put the kid gloves on quite a bit.
It's a shame he feels this way, because, when not involved in some big thing like this thread or the thing with Obright in his own forum, I think he made some valuable contributions, and I would have liked to do a collab with him at some point.
But I'm not here to coddle anyone. That's what the mag is for. I stated my opinions in a clear manner, and really, if the "negativity" here at the Pavilion really scarred him for life or whatever, I think not only is the Pavilion not the place for him, but he shouldn't even be on the damn internet.
I never said anything about flaming the mag. In Cry's own admission, he gets (got) more support there than here, and it seemed by reading it that everyone there coddles him. I stated in an earlier post in this thread that if you post here, not to expect an army of yes men to respond to what you have to say.
I do not think that's a flame. Merely that I, by my own admission, had to put kid gloves on through much of this topic, and by reading Cry's posts, it seems as if the mag has sterile latex gloves on. Not a flame, merely an observation of the two different types of communities.
But I'm not here to coddle anyone. That's what the mag is for.
That's unfair, Perv.
For the record, he doesn't have a history of doing things like this on our site, so why would we have a need to be as antagonistic as y'all are?
I do have a major problem with you inferring that the Mag is filled with yes-men with latex gloves, though. It would be like me saying that the Pav was filled with abrasive, arrogant elitists.
I'm sorry, Ix. I don't spend as much time at the Mag as I do here, and do not get into the RPGM forums there much lately. I was just going on the impression that Cry gave in this thread.
Although, I did read his SWE topic at the Mag last night, and it did seem that it was just a friendly discussion, not coddling or anything. So I retract my statement in my last post. As I said, I was going by what Cry wrote, and he kept saying that eveyone there thought it was a great idea, and everyone was giving him full support. The way I have to deal with him over here (with kid gloves), I guess I just assumed that everyone else at the Mag treated him the same way, but with care not to offend.
You know what they say about assuming, though....
Sorry, Ix. I'll try to be more knowledgeable in the future before making a comment like that.
I forgive you and everyone else at the Pavilion who has attacked me, slandered me, mutilated my character, and otherwise hurt me. Just wanted you to know. You're all forgiven.
You're still banned, though. I have a zero tolerance policy for human stupidity as far as my interactions with others online go.
Nice bit of tomfoolery in your recent attack on me at the Mag, by the way. You did an almost expert job of making Lausen look like a saint while simultaneously making me look like the aggressor. It's an act of evil, though. I forgive you, but your acts of evil leave me little choice but to continue ignoring you.
Please do not reply, as your reply won't be seen.
I did of course, reply.
you're ****ing retarded
this e-mail came out of ****ing nowhere. I recently attacked him at the mag? I cant even remember when I last posted at the mag.
does ANYONE know what the hell he's talking about?
that's why I posted this e-mail here. because I have no clue. maybe someone else does.
Yeah, it was me. He made a comment about someone’s game that I got upset by. I kind of called him out by it and brought up his past of how he acted when people criticized his. He got fired up about it and wrote a massive response about what I said and everything that happened here. Now that the new mag format is up some of the posts were edited and he thinks everyone is out to get him. I’ll admit I came off as a bit of a douche, but he blew it out of proportion, which I guess I should have expected. Sorry he sent you an email Valk.
I agree. The man has some deep-seated issues that he has not come to terms with, even in his age. He just needs some grow-up time. He will never be able to handle any sort of criticism for his work, unless it's something that kisses his VG-making ass. And of course, if you don't agree with him, it's a horrible offense and you are part of the conspiracy to remove all his talented work from the internet and ruin his creative juices for the rest of his life. His arrogance handicaps his potential, and he cannot receive feedback, period. Even when it's presented to him in a kind manner.
I can't wait until he comes stiffing around here for some more of our diabolical plots to over-throw his creative genius. I miss seeing Valk at his villainous glory--(hey, does that mean I'm your minion, Valk?)
Lausen, please don't EVER admit you were at fault. You were protecting someone else and reminding him of his own faults. He's someone who likes to act better then anyone and refusing to believe that anyone could be better then him.
(and a message to Chrys if you read this and feel like you are being unjustly criticized without having a chance to defend yourself, my e-mail is librainred@gmail.com. Drop me a line if you are bored--I had almost forgotten how much I missed you.)
Since when does he have the power to ban you? LOL! That line makes me think he's sarcastically writing a would-be letter from you to him, but then... the second half doesn't make sense, since he wouldn't be proud of "making you look like a villain" at the Mag...
Okay, I'm seriously confused. Maybe the goal of the letter was to make all of our heads asplode via Logic Bomb?
EDIT: The last four posts were made while I was typing this, so it makes slightly more sense now.
