I've been working on this game on and off since before RM2 was even released. Yup, I had one or two test things working on the Japanese version.
Anywho, it's really bothered me that I've not completed this. So far I've asked a few people if they could assist me with level design, but no one has followed through. So things are entirely in my hands, which is the same as before.
When I made the first one, I just made levels and abilities up as I went along. When I decided to make a sequel, I wanted more thought put into it. This is probably one reason things have gone so slowly. Not to mention that when I try to work on stuff my tolerance is almost zero.
I was so obsessive about this series and now I have a mental block about getting anything done. Worst thing about it is that I currently have all the time in the world to work on it; have for quite some time, actually. So the fact that I've had all this time and accomplished almost nothing feels pretty bad.
Nevertheless, I'm trying to see if I can have something put together by the next contest due date in August. I am not that confident it will happen and am making no promises.
Sometimes I wonder if my ambition for this project is too big. Plus, RM2 takes so much effort to make things happen. And, deciding on abilities for each character in this game seems to be holding me up.
Is it so wrong to want to make a game that seems professional? One that I enjoy playing and that others would like to play?
Wish me luck and send me some motivation. At the very least I would like to finish what I started.
After that, all I have to complete is my Shawnopoly game.... *sigh* Although, trading properties feels to me like it would be the only major issue. Everything else works.
