So I was playing my game I made years ago...

...and I kept getting whooped by enemies. I keep getting deadly blows on my party members and now I'm becoming angry because of it. I'd go back and change the game, but I totally forgot the password. I almost want kick myself because I found the password before, but then I lost it again! Wasn't there a program created by a pavilion member that was able to "crack" the pass code in case if some of us forgot the password we used? Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

    Oh, hello there! Welcome back.

I remember someone making a guide to password recovery, but whether or not it was ever finished, I don't know. Maybe ValhallaRPG is still offering his recovery service? there's a sticky at the bottom of the workshop directory with his contact info.

        This guide seems promising.

Oh wow, complex! I don't think I'd ever get my head around that.

Fortunately I did find my password though. I originally wrote the password on a post-it, but I knew I written on a regular piece of paper. Anyway, I've found the password and everything is good. I'm playing my old game that I made roughly six years ago, Patrick's Journey. If anyone beat this game, tell me. As far as I know, this game is nearly impossible to beat. I almost think this game deserves another patch release or something. I wouldn't expect anyone play it, but at least it would be comforting to me that this game is at least beatable. I feel bad because even with the second release of this game, I did not properly play test this game. Too bad my dexdrive won't work on a Mac (or would it?).

Yours wouldn't be the first game to get patched on the site. I've done it, Xisthruos has done it, Yeaster has done it, and Gustaff13 has done it, to name a few. We're as bad as PC game developers. :P

perfectionism is the death of progress.

id rather release something and have to patch it then continuously rework and repolish because i feared it wouldnt be accurate. there has been a recent trend of repairing old games, i like it.

I even changed some of the dialogue just because I felt like it. Now I feel like George Lucas!

Well, I submitted the new version. Now I'm playing through Monkey Brothers and guess what I found?! Another game breaking glitch!

                    ... yaaaay..?

I hate when that happens after you've released the game. The glitch is missed in playtests, but if you dare go back and play it after release? There it is!

Happened to me. And it was also a game-breaker.

i hate game breakers that occur during a randomized mini game. mulling through 30 plus scenarios to find the one switch that got wrongly activated blows. sometimes its something idiotic like a process happening too soon or a switch that didnt get deactivated from an earlier attempt - that is a killer there.

i still have the custom fix from rone when i encountered a game breaker from his game. was nice to see him incorporate the glitch fix in a funny way. made a well shrine and had extra dialog and stuff.

When Tree of Life finally came out, I had playtested it like 24-25 times, and I'm not kidding. After it was submitted I said "I'M DONE", and I didn't even WANT to know if there were any more mistakes in it so I didn't play it.

Less than a week later, someone from the MAG posted saying "This abandoned note thing in the prison doesn't work!" And they were right.

                            It's still broken.

Actually, I speak of a glitch that forced me into re-submitting Jester's Hunt into that one contest, thus ensuring I didn't get as high a score.

The glitch you speak of came from lack of proper playtesting (I didn't wait around for the right time, I just skipped to it through the debug menu ), and due to a simple lack of understanding of how RPGM3 works.
