Re: Twilight Princess - FALL 2006.

On the bright side, though, the decoy system has just about seen it's end, and Nintendo's big gun which has been charging since before the GC was announced is finally ready to fire.
So everyone that bought a gamecube was pretty much cheated? Awesome.

By refering to it as a "decoy system", I was echoing back to a post I made about the GC simply being a system to keep them afloat while they work on the Revolution, as well as a medium for experimenting with ideas.

That WOULD explain all that connectivity bullshit.

What ideas? I think the revolution is going to be as great as the next guy does, but how did the gamecube represent experimentation?

Honestly, their one innovation is what, bongo controllers?

(Someone please slap me upside the head with positive gamecube points, cause I need some games for it.)

          EDIT: oh yeah...the connectivity thing...good point...I guess.

Re: Twilight Princess - FALL 2006.

They wanted to see what worked and what didn't in terms of hardware and software ideas, like the controler, which was made for simplicity and comfort, but made it impossible to play select genre effectively/at all, GBA-to-GC connectivity and games like Pikmin, the GC mic games and Donkey Konga.

I'll post as many GC games in my library as I can recall later on.

Even as a pseudo-placeholder, the GC was way underutilized. Only Nintendo and Capcom used it to it's fullest potential. That sucks.

They've had TWO placeholder generations. In a ROW.

No, the N64 was a more serious attempt that focused too much on revolving around Miyamoto's games, Mario 64 in particular. They defined the analog stick with it, though.

Re: Twilight Princess - FALL 2006.

I feel cheated. I've always been hardcore about buying Videogames, and I have maybe 3-4 GCN games compared to my 25+ PS2 and 8+ Xbox.

Frankly, ever since SEGA stopped doing consoles, I wish Nintendo would do the same thing--because all Miyamoto does now is seem to **** everything up.

My GCN gets one use, playing GBA releases on it. If that isn't ****-poor marketing strategy, I don't know what is--Because I just would have bought a GBA if I knew the console was going to be a $199 Game Boy for me.

Ah well, at least I got to play the complete version of FF4:A

I also agree with you Valk. My SNES has been getting more play than the damn Gamecube. I've beat Chrono Trigger, FF4, 6 and Lufia all in a row--but I haven't touched my Gamecube since I beat Eternal Darkness...Which was over a year and a half ago.

It may not be dead to you RedDragon, but the system is definately the most pathetic of the three in my eyes.

I, too, am guilty of using my Gamecube primarily as a Gameboy. That should hopefully change now that I picked up Player's Choice RE4.
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.

Wow MC that is some real dumb shopping you do there. 3-4 games? what kind of library is that? I easily have more GC games than PS2 games, When you shop for a game, if you see it's for GC. GET THAT ONE! Less loading times, better graphics, and moreover faster saving.

I am really getting annoyed that people are so blind when it comes to GC games.

I would get an X-box... except that all the games that are worth getting are for PC anyhow.

                      oh and on topic

Re: Twilight Princess - FALL 2006.

Miyamoto's been far too busy jumping from game to game to give his usual effort, which is why we haven't seen his usual caliber of games much at all this gen. He can't. He's totally swamped. That would be a different story if he was still a product designer and not on the board.

Twilight Princess is likely the last title he'll be able to be totally involved in for a really long while. Let's hope it's worth it.

                        I also miss Sega...

                            That's a harsh assessment...

Just because Twilight Princess has been delayed again, and half of us seem to harbor disdain for the GC, and Miyamoto will no longer be directly involved with games, and I haven't played Resident Evil 4 yet...

HOLY CRAP THIS TOPIC IS DEPRESSING.

That's nothing, I bought a new GBA just for Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Now that is bad shopping.

On topic, Its times like these that make both cry and smile at the fact I don't own a GC. I'm not a Zelda fan, but I would so ****ing buy the game when it comes out if I had a GC. On the other hand, because of Nintendo's concentrating on Revolution there won't be too many new releases of much worth. This is enough to give me one hell of a head ache.

I don't see the big deal. At all. Since you all have so many other games on other systems why don't you play those games and those new games coming out for those other systems until Twilight Princess is finally released.

                                ****, FOOLS.

I mean, Substinence alone is gonna keep me occupied for the next few eons.
