    Re: Armored Core 5

Namco Bandai is buddies with From Software now, I guess.

I was just barking at agetec this past weekend to jump back on the AC series with this game. So much for that.

Has Agetec actually released a game in the past 5 years?

Yup. WiiWare, DSiWare, and some budget PS2 titles.

Oh yeah, PS1 game re-releases on the PSN.

I have no idea what the hell happened.

How sad, they did good work with the original Armored core games.

Edit: Bunch of new screens came out yesterday, AC5 will focus on large scale battles

So we can expect AC5 shortly after the world is supposed to end?

                  Interviiiiieeeeeeew.

I hate that the guy doesnt ask about the new gimmick for the game, like those big flaming chainsaws or if you can throw on a huge gun instead or what.

Don't worry Crunk, delays are always for the best. Unless it's something like... Duke Nukem Forever or Gran Turismo 5. You won't be able to play the game as soon but it'll be a better game when you do.

I've never played an AC game, but I'll give this one a whirl if reception is positive enough.

An operator removed from the action, dealing out orders. I wonder how that'll work out~~~
                        ...and that's why.

                          Re: Armored Core 5

If it really does end up using all kinds of cool team based stuff, and the Operators are just like the ones from previous games, you'll be maping out areas, and hacking computer systems, dealing out objectives(AC1 destroy generator on 3rd floor so AC3 can pass through the elevator shaft, etc) so your team can make its way through facilitys.

Or at least that would be really cool. I know it wont be that cool though.

                              http://www.mechadamashii.com/news/ne...cenary-system/

In the latest edition of covered Famitsu, Armored Core V’s new Mercenary System has been partially outlined. In that teams lacking in members can pay other players to help build up their ranks. No word on how the pricing works as yet, but the whole soldier of fortune vibe does chime in with series’ history very nicely (as that’s effectively what Ravens were anyway). Team members can also moonlight as mercenaries too apparently.

Separately, it’s been also revealed that the story mode will be much more substantial than previous games. As many of the core game missions will be around 20 to 60 minutes in length, as well as featuring multiple dramatic cutscenes. These will be playable via online co-op too. In addition there will also be shorter “order” missions available, that sound more akin to a beefed up arena but with a mission based context. The latter total up to around 70 missions in all.
