This game better not have the same annoying controls as the previous AC games had. AC: Last Raven is the latest I've played, and, while the controls are great, they still feel annoying and slow.
I prefer the analog controls that have become available in the more recent PS2 games and the PS3 games. I havent played in a while (cant get past an early train mission in AC4 so i havent even play AC:FA yet), but what dont you like about the controls Valk?
You guys are crazy. I could never stand the whole R2 to look up and L2 to look down thing in the old games. It was ridiculous. Especially when Dual Shock controllers came out and they still stuck with not using any Analog stick until AC2:Another Age, and even then they only let you use one stick for movement, and the other was unused.
I like the new setup way better, but I still tweak it around a bit.
No new AC5 news, but some dude from OCremix released an Armored Core album. Its pretty neato. If you like Armored Core music, or just techno/electronic stuff in general, you'll love it.
Death to the King, Over the Pain and Goodbye Thinker are my faaaaaavs~
- Bandai Namco Games is publishing this outside of Japan
- The gameplay will involve the player forming teams with other players and fighting it out online
- The objective in the game is territorial conquest
- The My Garage system allows you to upgrade you mechs
- The mech part designs are brand new
- The main component of the game is online play
- The online play here is different from normal online multiplayer because it has no separate modes. By being a single seamless online mode, it makes it much easier for players to get online and start playing.
- There is a single player option.
- The main objective of the game is for your team to capture the territory of another team.
- You can set up defenses in your territories beforehand. If no players are online in a team, the defenses become the enemies for other players trying to take it.
- Teams are made up of 5 players. In combat there will be 4 players controlling mechs, while the remaining player serves as the commander and operator for the team.
- There will be something similar to Overweapons from AC4.
I love the bit about one player being the operator. The commander unit was fun as hell in Chrome Hounds, but the game became so broken people hardly ever needed or used a commander.
It was fun finding a nice sniping spot and taking pot shots at dudes from across the map while relaying radar information to your team over the mic.
