Re: LittleBigPlanet
I'll admit the controls take about 10 minutes to get used to. However how is this relevant? Changing direction drastically in mid-air feels wonky.Originally posted by BeeZee View PostYou also don't like 2D platformers where you can change direction while jumping.
You also called the, I guess I'll call them story levels since there is no single player, bland. First of all, really not meant to be played single player. If you haven't played the sections of the levels with the x2, x3, or x4 symbols you're missing out on some great chunks of the level. But a lot of the levels have very interesting design, and they're definitely colorful, so I don't know what you could mean. There are basically 5 stories to play through and each has its own aesthetic. The Collecter's levels are probably some of the most visually bland, but they have amazing gameplay.
Also, I don't know how you can argue with levels like these:

However, it's all rather irrelevant because without user created levels this game doesn't have the same appeal. Sony has effectively killed its best potential.Last edited by Chad; 11-17-2008, 02:27 PM.

Re: LittleBigPlanet
Nah, it wasn't a "getting used to" thing. The controls just felt floaty to me. They didn't feel precise.Originally posted by Chad View PostI'll admit the controls take about 10 minutes to get used to. However how is this relevant? Changing direction drastically in mid-air feels wonky.
I'm not talking about aesthetic; I think the game has GREAT aesthetics. When I talk about level design, I'm usually talking about its function.Originally posted by Chad View PostYou also called the, I guess I'll call them story levels since there is no single player, bland. Granted, I only ended up to the Meerkats, so it could very well get better.

Re: LittleBigPlanet
i agree.
Sackboys should be your avatar's in home, not these realistic looking things!
I'm sorry for those of you that dont like it, but you are in the small and not very vocal minority... that isnt made up of Xbots or Wiimos.
I even made a small crappy level to test out some ideas i had, most of which worked out very well. If i can create a playable level in something that isnt an RPGmaker, then anyone can.Vita, 3DS, PSP, PS3, PC, WiiU, Wii & 360

Re: LittleBigPlanet
I love the game, but I sold it due to the blatant false advertising this game had. I love how they waited a few weeks, after all the reviews are in, and after many of us bought it, for them to enforce there strict rules on the community. I'll happily re-buy the game when the only restriction is explicit content.
Oh, and don't forget, you can have a Street Fighter sackboy, but don't make a level to go with it!Last edited by Valkysas; 12-01-2008, 05:22 PM.

Actually Valk, i was trying to imply that there WERENT any of them here, i was trying to be nice, even if it was a stretch of the truth.Originally posted by Valkysas View PostXbots and Wiimos?
what the hell.
keep retarded flame-baiting terms like that off here man.
There was no blatant false advertisement about the game. Sony has always made it clear that they would carefully enforce the level creation in this game. now, i dont know why some levels were removed, as it doesnt make sense, besides some we know were errors.Originally posted by Bigfoot View PostI love the game, but I sold it due to the blatant false advertising this game had. Sorry Bigfoot, your comment like that only shows your ignorance, and the fine line that Sony has to tread when it comes to user created content like this.
I'm not apologizing for mistakes Sony has made, only that it isnt so black and white that alot of people make it out to be.Vita, 3DS, PSP, PS3, PC, WiiU, Wii & 360

Re: LittleBigPlanet
sure it is. fair use. parody works. they are legal for LBP for the same reason they're legal for RPG Maker. they're legal for LBP for the same reason Xplay can create videos that parody games. they're legal for the same reason webcomics can feature characters from games. they're legal for the same reason that people can post screenshots and videos from games they don't own on the internet, post fan-art and fan-fiction on the internet, and tons of other examples I don't feel like writing down.
they are not interfering with the ability for the IP owner to sell their product, they do not claim ownership, and they do not profit off the material.
It's completely legal to make levels based on other IPs in LBP.
Sony did falsely advertise the game. The beta allowed for all sorts of stuff that is now being moderated away. and the beta WAS moderated pretty strictly, but only when it came to obscene or explicit content. there was a genuine belief that all the stages that were allowed in the beta would be allowed in the retail product, and sony did nothing to discourage that belief.
and yes, adding to the stupidity of the situation, you are not allowed to make stages based on the sackboys you are allowed to use in the game, that you PURCHASE for use in the game. you can use kratos, but don't you dare make a god of war level.
yes, it's retarded, and they are not doing this out of legal responsibility.Last edited by Valkysas; 12-01-2008, 06:33 PM.

Re: LittleBigPlanet
The more I get to thinkin' bout this, the less I am actually annoyed by this whole moderation. It encourages people to... you know, actually make original levels as opposed to another lame Sonic, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Gears of War, Mirror's Edge, [insert popular franchise here] level.

The only thing that disappoints is that the music levels, like "To Zanarkand" would also be removed too, huh?
