    The death of Garfield.

    Clicky Clicky

If it's real It's the only thing Davis has done well. Kind of odd seeing how most of his stuff is boring and genial.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

Yup, it's real as far as I know of. But I don't see how they could really think that Garfield is really dead.

      It really comes off Watterson-esque.

Yup, you killed him. GREAT JOB GARR!

This is all your fault, I know it. You'll see. And I can prove it. Somehow. Then again, it doesn't really matter. I never liked garfield.

That strip was Anno's inspiration for Evangelion.

What, are you kidding? I'm pretty sure we even HAVE those comics.

Yeah, Wikipedia just said that he was dead. We all know we can't trust Wikipedia. Plus he wouldn't of been fat if he didn't get his lasania.

The strips themselves never say that he is dead or dying or whatever.

The whole "OMG, he's dead" thing come from people just implying.

Garfield wakes up in an empty, dark, and now abandoned house, notices it hasnt been used in years, and imagines he's being fed. There's a message about imagination at the end.

And because of that, readers suddenly think he's dead.

Personally, I hate the whole "OMG, it was a dream" or "OMG, he died" or "OMG he's dreaming before he dies" arguements that people have outside of a film, story, whatever when they examine it too much.

It seems to be based off of Feline Fantasies , almost the exact same scenario. Nice cartoon too.

Well if he is dead it would be the movies that killed him, had to go to the first one with the family and it was horrendous. At least it had Jennefer Love Hewitt to give something to distract my mind from the horrible movie I was watching.

Of course since when has a comic character dying mean they can't come back to life at least 10 times or so, after going through about 20 alternate universes.
