    When I first read it I thought it meant that everything that had happened in the comics was his imagination and that he either never had an owner or had been abandoned long ago. Reminds me of that Buffy episode "Normal Again" or that episode of Angel where he was trapped underwater. Basically Joss Whedon steals from Garfield.

        Yeah, i think this makes more sense then the whole 'death' bit.

          In one of the books I have, Jim Davis said he did those strips for Halloween and just wanted to be different.

            W-T-F. He isn't dead, just dreaming.
            Even though I hate the movies, I like the comic strip.
            (Which, Everyone here seems to hate for some ****ed up reason.)

              I always really liked Garfield. I have those comics in a book, actually. I never interpereted them as Garfield being dead.

                      Garfield is a terrible, terrible comic which has been utterly driven into the ground by Davis' refusal to bring anything new to the table in twenty years of work.
