    I love my job.

As some people know, for the past two years, I've worked at a daycare place. Yesterday a new kid joined the crew. he's 7, and not in school. He's somewhat new to the US (his family moved from some african country a few months ago) and doesnt speak english too well. this will be about him. He's my new favorite.

Today we had some different animals there, to teach the kids about.

First up, we had a sugar glider. the kids really loved the thing, although it was freaking out the entire time. When the kids drew pictures of it later, one kid drew it in a tuxedo with a stove-pipe hat. I thought that was pretty cool.

The other animals (snake, iguana, rabbit, mouse) were pretty uneventful.

Then we had a guinea pig. of all the things to get a strange reaction, this was it. the new kid started screaming and shouting "Skak Bons" the second the cage was put on the table. he ran to the back of the room, still shouting "Skak Bons" until we got the guinea pig out of there. he was shaking, and covered in a cold sweat. I swear, he genuinely feared for his life.

    Best morning ever.

Guinea pigs cannot naturally produce Vitamin C in their bodies, much like humans. Maybe that had something to do with it.

If I had children, I would send them to the Valk Day Care Center.

If I had children that would be a requirement. Nothing better than permenately scarring children for life.

I dont have my own daycare center, unfortunately. I'm just not going to reveal which one I work at, for fear of the local pavilionites bothering me at work.

What did I do wrong? I didnt chase the kid around with the guinea pig. I just put the cage on the table like I was supposed to. I can understand kids freaking out for a snake (which they didnt), but a guinea pig? and "skak bons"? totally not my fault.

I think what's interesting about this is how it relates to a comment I made in the OMG!LIBBYBIGSISTER?!!` topic about Valk and kids. Well, Valk sure showed me.

                So, is he okay?
Why would he be scared of a guinea pig?

I could name a few reasons, but that is something best left for the playground.

*snerks* Man, you would make an awesome big brother, Valk. You just LOVE to torment little ones. Did you ever find out why he freaked?

                        Re: I love my job.

No, as I wasnt scheduled to work the whole day. I'm going to ask his parents about it in the morning though.

I dont like tormenting kids, its funny to think about, but I cant bring myself to do anything that would have any negative effect on them. Despite my best efforts, I did laugh during the "skak bons" thing, which I'm sure didnt make things any easier for the screaming child.

That's why they weren't scared. They probably didn't even notice it much.

now if you had a big, hulking, 200-pound constrictor that could even eat you, well that would be different.
