There are only a handful of gigantic mega-corps that hide behind the guise of multi-corps that hide behind the guise of corps that hide behind the guise of stores/companies/restaurants.
It really is the top .1% controlling the 99% below it.
Disney buying Marvel doesn't mean much to me!
If I'm not mistaken, only five of these "mega-corps" control 95% of the world's media. Off the top of my head, I think they're Disney, Viacom, AOL/Time Warner, GE, and, uh, Rupert Murdoch.
I guess this aquisition really is something Walt would have done - someone's gotta stop Captain America from saving those Jews.
Chuck: I wonder if Mickey and company will be in MUA3 or perhaps DLC for MUA2. Spiderman, Wolverine, etc in Kingdom Hearts maybe? The possibilities are endless.
I'll be ****** if I see Aladdin or whoever in MUA2 instead of Punisher. Kingdom Hearts, I can live with that even though I think the series is dead enough. But Marvel Ultimate Alliance...PLEASE GOD NO!
when i first heard this, i was all "oh crap, that's terrible. how bad for comics." then i realized that modern, mainstream comics suck horrible balls anyway. marvel may not be as bad as d.c. right now, but they've still lost any sense of focus they might have had at one point. for several years now. so my thinking came around to "who gives a ****, marvel sucks anyway"
Whenever you have two diverse sets of beloved characters, your first instinct is to throw them into a fighting arena and watch them kill each other. It's a universal truth, in effect ever since ancient Romans found themselves with a surplus of both lions and Christians.
I literally laughed out loud at this.
