Weed is cool, but it is still wrong because it is a drug.
Everything is a drug. Caffeine? Every one of us is hooked on it? Drug.
I only smoke when my stoner friend(s) make it a social occasion but I don't find it all that great because it just makes me very tired and very hungry at the same time and order pizzas I can't afford.
Incidentally said friend tends to smoke to help combat her insomnia, which I could raise issues with but hey, she can probably get it cheaper than routine sleeping pills.
Anyway the moral of the story is ditch joints and use a bong.
Yeah, but get rid of those, and people will find something else. There ALWAYS something else. Arent there lots of legal things you can order that get you high? Like plant extracts and all kinds of crap?
So as not to quote what was said earlier, in Mr. Taco's defense of the substance, I used to totally enjoy sitting on the couch watching a TV set when I used to get high. However, the main difference is that I would pretty much only watch films that were a bit deeper, and had a lot of different layers and subtext. Being high watching films like this increased my understanding of those types of films. I mean, I truly think that once you start smoking, you DO tend to look at things differently.
That being said, no, I did not sit around and watch sitcoms or Cheech and Chong while high. And as for "being stupid" while high, I see both sides of it. Your brain is working in a different way to some extent, so there are things you will do that make pefect sense to you at the time, but to a sober person, or yourself later when sober, it does not follow any logic or make any sense.
Also, I can attest to the fact (and medical research has pretty much proven) that semi-regular or more frequent use WILL lead to short-term memory loss. Granted, it came back to me to an extent after I stopped, but it'll never be the way it was before I started. Every now and again, I'll STILL set something down, get involved in something else, and come back a half an hour later, and completely forget where I put whatever it was, and spend the next ten or more minutes looking for it. This NEVER used to happen before smoking the vile weed (Karr, rep to you if you know and can quote the Seinfeld reference I just made, although it does not reference marijuana).
