No offense wavelength, but youre awfully straight forward, first you get on Valk for pulling a joke on us on aprils fools day, now youre giving out awards for "most unnecessary topics"

Its called a Camel Cricket, I had the same problem at the last place I lived, and they eat dead spiders, ants, and other small insects. A quick internet search will show you how you can get rid of them, they usually hang out around damp places.

a fat bottle of raid would do the trick. if it doesnt work you would always beat it in the head with the can.

Yeah those things get pretty big, Ive seen them jump up to 4-5 feet in one jump

my best advice would be to tape a teensy weensy pillow on the exact spot where the fly is hitting your window. That would do the trick nicely. He'd be comfy and you could be less stressed.

No offense taken, and yeah, I tend to be a straight-shooting guy. I was disappointed at the 4/1 announcement after the way it was hyped, and simply wanted to make that known to lessen the chances of such an event happening again.

Now as far as this topic being "unnecessary" and giving it a trophy... that's just me being a bit silly. I WAS wondering why anyone posted a topic like this, but that's part of what makes the Pav wonderful. Okay, so I delivered it a little too deadpan... but I was giggling the whole time while I was writing that and finding a picture for it. Didn't mean to strike anyone's nerves... although to be honest, I have a feeling I didn't strike any.

I wish I had some of those camel crickets where I live! We could use something to eat all the minor bugs. Heck, maybe we DO have them... in which case, I wish we had more, or that I had a couple as pets!

I'd let the flies out if I could (I do that with all indects/spiders) - I always feel guilty when something dies an unnecessary death. My mom found another alternative: buy a Venus Flytrap. Sometimes we feed them insects, or when that fails, bits of hamburger and such.
