Which is interesting considering the 360 has been out a full year, and the PS3 has only be out for a few weeks eh?
Think of what the PS3 might be capable of a year from now. I saw that link last night.
its stupid to compare them. Yes, the PS3 has worse graphics than the 360 versions of those games, because they're direct ports of the 360 version. The games werent built to make the most of the hardware, or even utilize it correctly.

In Phoenix's defense, I think it's safe to say that the PS3 exclusive games haven't even come close to knocking anyone's socks off, graphicly. Look at Motor Storm, Resistance, NBA '07. Pretty, yes, but not that far off from 360.
...and no more of this "just wait a year" crap. Yes graphics will get better, but I'm sure they will for the 360 as well. I don't think it's out of line to say that their graphic capabilities are that far off from each other.Comment

I never understood the "just wait a year" thing either. Then developer's will have 2 years experience with 360 and probably push the bar ever more. Of course both systems will continue to be used more completely and efficiently but 360 is always going to have an extra year headstart.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!Comment

"Just wait" is a legitimate notion because it's believed that the PS3 has a much higher ceiling than the Xbox360. Therefore the advancements are thought to be greater down the road for the PS3 regardless of length of development of 360 games.Comment

The DVD use and Cell processor use on the PS is a still a fairly new technology for Sony game designers, not for microsoft, when they(sony) start learning the limits of these components and how to use them effectively I think Sony will have a lead on Microsoft, not much, but perhaps some.
Though Microsoft will always be in the lead, mainly in part because they've been in the PC/Gaming business far longer then Sony and they have experience and know what can be done and what can't.
Honestly I played a PS3 game on demo in EB Games and I'd much rather have a 360 right now, but I'm holding off to see if PS3 delivers any original games, im not getting my hopes up for it though, Im losing interest in the PS3 as we speak...Last edited by JPS; 12-07-2006, 04:23 PM.

The year will help Sony.
Developing for the 360 is just like developing for a computer, architecturally. It's a whole different paradigm for the PS3. That is why the year makes the difference because it's a completely new architecture. Do all developer's know how to utilize the different cores? They all do things differently. Some are better for certain operations and I doubt developer's have found the tricks, ins and outs of each of them.
