How many people actually complete a game in RPGM? I got mine last year and it's still not done! So my question is, how many people actually made a game in RPGM and finished it?

Re: Complete?
Through the years, with all the topics we've had where someone was telling us about their game, I'd say 99.7% never see release.Ryner's Games

Re: Complete?
a lot of games are finished. go to the main site (http://www.rpgmpavilion.com) and check out how many there are in the "full games" pages.

Re: Complete?
I see that happening, JPS, but I think oftimes the 'new, cooler projects' aren't even cooler. It just seems that way after you've been plugging away at one idea for so long. You forget what made it sound so cool, and anything else appears much better.
Another reason so many aren't finished is because it is more enjoyable to daydream of a finished rpg and how cool it will be and how everyone will praise you as the rpgGod, than it is to actually sit down and work work work work work work work work work.
And, most ideas, even good ones, fizz out half-way through (no matter how hard you try), if you don't plan out a good enough portion to fill up the game. You can't stretch out a little idea into a whole game. There has to be a lot more there. And it takes a lot of time to expand upon an idea until you have a good, full game.
I rushed through D&tM, mostly cause I was new to the site and wanted to contribute to the contest, without much direction or planning. I finished making the game, but it definitely shows its haste. Now, I'm taking my time and making a full, in depth adventure game (can't call them rpg's when there's no battling, rite?).My kind of life’s no better off

Re: Complete?
Okay, then let me restate:
My first game, Series 1: Destiny Beckons was 15-20 hours long.
My second game, A Series Aside, is probably 4-8 hours long.
The "teaser" for Series 4, Episode 1 which I am currently working on, will probably take no more than an hour or two to play.
So to restate: Your game should be as long as it needs to be for you to be happy with it. That being said, do not incorporate useless filler just to make it longer.

Re: Complete?
I suggest keeping RPG Maker made games to a maximum of 4 hours length. 1 hour is actually just peachy.
QUALITY >>>>>>>>>>>> QUANTITY in this case
