    My surprises never work.

    I watch movies. When guys surprise the ones they love, it works out. WHAT THE HELL.

    Anyone else had a decent surprise completely ruined?

    Last year I decided to take a week and visit my girlfriend back in Massachusetts. I knew when she had her spring break and she told me she'd be doing stuff with her friends sometimes that week. Perfect, so I knew she'd be home. So I bought a plane ticket. Then a week before she tells me that her mom just bought tickets to Chicago for the ENTIRE time and that she was pumped. And then I had to tell her that I planned to surprise her with a visit.



    Flash to the present. I camped out about 13 hours early and got her a Wii. She's been so pumped for it when I told her about it. Her friend told me she just would not be quiet about it. So I braved the cold, stood in line and got one of them at Best Buy. Now, of course I have to test it out a little, load some cool Miis for her before I give it to her. Now she's telling me that her mom pretty much told her she's getting her a Wii for Christmas if she can find one and she's even been scouting what places are getting units when. She knows everyone in a 10 mile radius and does a lot of volunteering. I think she has a good chance of getting one

    i suppose "talk to her mother before you do these things" would be too obvious an answer, so i'm gonna say pray.

        Load the system with a Mii of you and one of her. Then give it to her. Tell her you know her mom is looking for one too, but you managed to snatch one up so you jumped at the chance because you knew how much she wanted it. Show her the Miis, and tell her you think of the system as another way for you to spend time together. She should eat it up.

        Do this soon. Like, tomorrow. The sooner the better so her mom gets a fair warning and doesn't buy one too.

          Oh, you best believe I'm calling her mom tomorrow. My girlfriend told me at about 12:15 AM and calling her mom at this hour... not such a good idea. I just gotta hope that her venture tomorrow in the AM is unsuccessful.

            Give the girl the system first and the mom has no chance of cockblocking. Don't be a puss.

                    Update:

                    I told her. I left a message for her mom. I still can't give it to her until a few days after Christmas because that's the next time I see her. I have lots of Miis on there for her. Hulk Hogan, Hitler, all our friends and the entire cast of her favorite tv show. It's all good.

                      Don't Miis get stored on the Controller though?

                        I thought so too, but there's a large area for them in their own little channel on the Wii and I don't need both controllers on for them all to be there. Jack Black and Kyle Gass are always chillin'. Although, I don't know if maybe I have it wrong?


                        Edit: Ok, doubly darn it. So as soon as I told Ange, her friend IMs me to tell me not to worry. Ange's mom already knows I got her a Wii and that she was getting one for someone else.

                          Some people has no luck, but youve been able to keep a long distance relationship for over a year, you're luckier then I've been in that scenario

                          But yea Ill give you a rep boost just to make you feel better
