Walked into the local EB yesterday and saw hem selling the old Kings Quest and Space Quest collections respectively. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I grew up with those old computer games and was thrilled to pick these up. Some im playing for the first time.
Now even though that's great, upon picking it up I learned that these applications actually use a program I downloaded earlier called DOSBox. Bsaically it allows you to play DoS games on windows. Originally I had downloaded it to play with X-com again, but I was kinda surprised that software is being marketed is actually using a freeware app. DoSBox has opened the way to play old classic Dos games again, but it's not without it's share of problems. Which is why, you'll get alot of them when using these old Sierra games.
Even so, it feels like a good pickup. Having a blast. Doing KQ series first, working on KQ3 now. after KQ is Space Quest. and im looking at getting more, like Police Quest, Leisure suit Larry, Colonel's Bequest, Gold Rush! and one of my fav series, Quest for Glory. Also I hear there is a Willy Beamish? Classics.
