    Ban Discussion

    TTC:
"Maybe that's how you think, but most normal people would just leave at that point if they truly didn't want to be here in the first place. Pretty much everyone who has left has put up an I'm leaving topic, and then left. Also most of them came back a year or so later. So I think you're completely missing the point that if you leave you're always welcome back. Banning someone is like saying good riddence, not good bye. This is why you don't ban someone who just wants to leave, you just let them leave on their own. That way it doesn't make either person look bad."

That's in part my point. Why are people making these ban topics if they just don't want to come here anymore. Valk has said countless times he doesn't honor ban requests. Therefore they just have to stop coming here. They know this. Thus leads one to, if they do make a topic to be banned, they either haven't been here long enough and read the rules to know that we don't honor ban requests OR they understand but are threatening the site saying ban me before I tear this site down to get banned.
Everything is a Riemann sum of a lot of nothing.

    Re: Ban Discussion

If you don't like the site, don't show up. If it's in your links, erase the link and never return. If you can't do that, then it's time to learn some self-control.

It's not Valk or anyone else's fault that people can't control their own actions when it comes to the internet. The people who want to be banned can just leave without a fuss instead. It's not that difficult unless the person makes a big deal out of it. Again, it goes back to self-control, something that's completely up to the individual.

why are we going on and on about something that valksas already said isnt going to change?

everytime someone goes over why they dont ban people on request its just the same thing someone else has already stated previously, either about the ban topic or self control

Quote this thread reminded me of...

Barbossa:Are we to be two immortals locked in an epic battle until judgment day and trumpets sound?

      Sparrow:Or you could surrender

JPS, meet "-" he does this alot. I'm not too sure why, or the story behind it (barely being here a year myself) so, it's something you'll get use to.

I'm not sure why alot of people are wanting to get banned, but the forum may have caused some sort of issue in their real life, so they feel they don't have the self-control to stop. The simplist thing to do is just what was stated earlier. Forget your password, remove the link from your page and stop coming. Stop posting. It's not really that hard.

I think alot of people just find that there is a time and place for this forum, I myself have been guilty of making a thread saying "Hey, guys, too much is going on, I'll catch you later." Diffrence is, I didn't ask to be banned.

Asking to be banned and then trying to get banned when Valk refuses to is juvinile, and I'd like to think most of the people on the boards here are a bit more mature then that. Hell, even Redneck is capable of it... :d (you know i love you.)

Honestly, I don't think that "-" really feels that this is a huge issue, I think he just likes to stir up trouble and argue. If he came up with a valid point, I'd be willing to listen, but it just feels like he's grasping the end of the rope and trying to tie a wild-horse down.

oh ok...i had a feeling "-" was someone probably trying to get attention

i know after a while i get bored with a forum and just leave and resurface a few months later, honestly i know im on this forum too much but i know itll die down eventually, im not gonna say "ban me valksas pleeaaassseee" because its just plain pointless, you'll get tired of all the same old topics over and over and start coming here less and less often, its a lot better then just getting banned and never being able to see anything again

Honestly, I'm sorry. I was having a bad week, and felt that this would help something if I didn't have this site to go to anymore.

I didn't mean to start a debate. I didn't mean to start fights. I knew that some people had done it before, and I guess I missed it when Valk said no.

But I do find this topic unnessicary anyway. It's one person whining about the rules, with noone backing him up. Or is there? Will all supporters please stand up?

                  Re: Ban Discussion

There were no fights, and debates are not a bad thing. Really I'm not even sure that - fully believes what he is trying to debate either, so really there are no detractors. He just likes to argue out there points sometimes, because some people are just like debating for no real reason other than to debate.

So I think everyone now understands that no banning is not allowed by request, because bans are for people who break the rules. Now it also comes with a full justification thread, which is probably full of similar things that were said before. Maybe it should be put in the rules (assuming people read them of course).

But yeah, Zieg you aren't the first to ask after it was not allowed, and you probably won't be the last, so don't be hard on yourself about it.

Haha you know me to well. I'd argue that 0*2 is 3 if I had the chance. I'm that little voice on the other side trying to throw stuff out there. I do it for several reasons which include personal enjoyment, allowing me to think on the other end of the spectrum, and hopefully getting others to think that way too, even if to a small degree.

Reminds me of the people who are like:

It's the reason why he named himself "-" because Dash rhymes with Nash. And it's friggin confusing when we are talking to him. It's the reason we could tell it was Nash at the start. He likes conflict.
