No, the beta is just meant to test the game out, see how the servers hold up, things like that. At the end of the beta they'll wipe the server and everything inside it.
This is a great chance for me to try the game out, as I'm a total PS noob but have been thinking about buying PSU as I've heard how fun it can be to play with friends.
Who else is going to be playing the beta? We'll hook up.

Phantasy Star is pretty much crack. Which is too bad in this case because once the beta is over, I'll have to restart. :(
Then again, in the GC version, I got used to restarting characters over and over due to the files corrupting so easily.
But yeah, fo sho, all of us who gets the beta should meet up.

Is the download huge? When I try and download crap off of LIVE it takes forever. It took around 10 hours to download that terrible Kameo demo. I think I played it for less than 5 minutes, it’s I’ll I could take. Oh, does PSU have a monthly fee? I haven’t really been following this game at all.

Yeah dude, I even got to play a tutorial mission too man. I've got to say though, the controls were a bit uncomfortable. You use the left trigger to switch between party and public chat, while the uncomfortable LB button is used to lock on. Get those two switched then the controls would be a bit better.

Me too man. That was fun as hell. Now that I'm still up though I have to go to Gamestop in a bit since it opens soon so I can reserve a Wii.
I also started a second character and had a second round of fun... Til I got kicked off the server.... again.
Looking forward to playing more than 20 minutes.
Plus fetus was cool.

I played the tutorial and did one mission solo. As a PS newb I enjoyed my brief stint, but will need more play time before deciding on a purchase (I'll be joining Serge on the 360, if I do buy). I've going to put some work hours in right now, but I'm badly hungover, so I've got plenty of time to play tonight. Looking forward to hanging out with some of you suckers. XBL name is

on the 4th floor, there's a path you can go to, to start a mission. if you did the tutorials, you would have been shown where to go (unless ya forgot, that is)

Do you know if you'll be able to pay the PSU fees with Xbox live cash cards and what not? I lack a credit card.
My game froze in the middle of the tutorial and when I restarted I couldn't do it again and I still figured it out.
But I can't figgure out how to fire my handgun while swinging my sword...

total nostalgic while playing this online at work today. Totally reminded me of the time serge, xtreme, omni, and I where grouped and serge told me to take it easy on the end boss so the guy we where running would feel like he was in a super epic fight....ahhh the memories.

:( It wasnt enough for me to get a 360, but a buddy of mine who worked on gears of war convinced me to a 360 for GOW. He also said the PS2, PC, and 360 server will all be interconnected.

Had my first Pav-on-Pav experience with VIT. The lag was bad and the
in-game voice chat was worse.

Might have been one of our connections. We ran a mission, VIT got disconnected, then we ran it again and kicked butt. He scared me twice by getting real low on health, he apparently refuses to heal during a battle. I made level 6, though. He got to level 5. Thanks to the lag and no voice chat, it wasn't as fun as it could have been, though.
One second thought, our lag must have been on Sega's side. We were sending voice messages through XBL that were crystal clear, and VIT and I live in the same city, so it wasn't a ping issue.

My first impression is that... the game is sort of boring. I'd only buy it to have fun with you guys, but I'd much rather get back into WoW than start playing this.

yeah, it's all very confusing at first, but just keep running around exploring the cities, and getting familiar with the menu's and you'll get the hang of it.

Yeah I gotta admit at first I didn't like this game...sooo easy at first to get lost but as Goufunaki said if you keep at it you start getting used to everything.
I actually had a blast tonight ****ing around in the lobbies with people, its really good to have a keyboard too as you can't voicechat in lobbies,also you can do some hilarious stuff with it.
This is also the Beta so things are open and things are closed, the game suffers from that..
I almost had second thoughts about buying it but I am gonna dive in, just gotta figure out all that weapon creation crap.....

I've enjoyed it very much, and will be picking it up right away.although i do hope there are more character creation choices at launch, and i think i'll be getting either the PC or 360 versions, i just hope i can get the PC version to look as good as the 360 version without any framerate problems.
although my only dislike it playing the single player game at my PC..which may be why my final choice is the 360 version.
I'd play more too, but the beta ends in 2 days i think.

I don't know, just the graphics and music don't impress. And the communication system sucks. Controls are very clunky and menu's are unintuitive, a step down from PSO. Plus character customization was disapointing.
But the game was still enjoyable, I am just not sure if I wan't to shell 10$ a month for it.
