NEVER see a French film called I Stand Alone. It's by the same guy that did that "rape movie" called Irreversible. That is, don't see it unless you want to be thoroughly depressed and disturbed. I've seen a lot of F***'ed up movies in my time, but NEVER have I seen something as bleak as this. If you take the bleakness of Joy Division and Labradford, multiply it by ten, and turn it into film format, this still would not begin to describe this film. This is your final warning. On second thought, everyone should see this film. It's a regular laff riot for all ages to enjoy...well, except maybe the kids, due to the explicit porn scene in the film. Anyway, that's all I have to say on the subject.

First of all, I did not know beforehand exactly what it was going to be like, and I rented it from Netflix, and I didn't want to let the DVD go to waste. Besides, I did not say that I did not enjoy it. I did. I'm just warning others not to watch it...although I know there will be at least one person here who is now intrigued by said film due to my mention of it....YES! My devious plan will work...*rubs hands together in sadistic glee*

Nobody watch American History X because it contains racial slurs that I find offensive. So if you watch it, you're just as guilty. That and there is some nudity. And a butt rape scene.

This topic was actually not meant to deter people from watching said film, Mr. Lopez. No one's heard of it, anyway. This was more of an underhanded ploy (as referenced in my second post) to get people interested in the film and WANT to watch it. I just had to word it in such a way that those of us out there that enjoy their mind getting f***'ed with a bit will see that this is a film worth seeing.

Irreversable was soooo boring and lame and unnecessary that I'm sure this movie would also be just as bland and stupid.

I want to see this. Joy Division isn't so bleak, at least not compared to stuff like Raison D'etre, and so it can't be THAT bad. I mean, it' no Grave of the Fireflies, is it? XD
