What made you smile today?

We had the daily rant thread, but I was just talking to someone in AIM and had the idea for this topic, a step in the other direction. Seen it on other boards. Not necessarily something that LITERALLY made you smile, but just anything good that happened that in general made your day smoother, more enjoyable, whatever.



SHEETZ finally opened here in Greenville. Best thing to happen since the beginning of Summer. Gas prices dropped from $2.48 to $1.99 in a single day because that's what SHEETZ set their gas at and everyone else followed suit. Now gas is like $1.94. Also, a friend brought me two of their hot dogs with ketchup and chili. He said it was only $1 for two hot dogs. That's it. I expected crap but they were actually REALLY damn good for the price. Upon further inspection I've found out a lot of their food seems to be very cheap. They've got six inch pizza subs for only $2. $2! I got a six inch Prime Rib Cheesesteak sub from Quizno's and it was like $8. and didn't even fill me up. For $8 I could get two feet worth of subs from SHEETZ!

Same friend that brought me the hot dogs said that the gas prices were just s 10-day promotional. And maybe the food's just a promotional too... but who cares.... it's still 10 days that'll make my life easier.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to hop in my car and go get a pizza sub.

lost power at work today...almost made the 8-hour shift bearable. greatest part was, we had to get all of the frozen food into some sort of freezer, but the freezers are all the way in the back where it was pitch black. we were planning on having a party once all the customers left, but the power came back on about an hour later...

oh well. still made for an interesting end of my shift.

Cousin just called me... I have a full time job working with him! I just gotta go in there and fill out the paperwork tomorrow. WOOT!

Anyone who read the daily rant topic knows I've been trying to get a full time one for a while now. This means I'll be good to go.

Changed the serpentine belt on my car's engine today... saving myself the $100 or so that a mechanic would charge to do it... and saved myself from getting stranded somwhere, as the old one was about to break.

Hey, what kind of noise does it make when that's gonna break?
My car has been making this high-pitched whining noise in the engine that gets higher pitched the faster I go to the point you can barely hear it at around 45 mph.

I woke up this morning smiling, thinking it was all just a bad dream.

Then horrified, I realized the bed I was sleeping in was not my own, and yes, that I DID get a catheter.

At my 21st birthday rampage last night, I got two of my friends who are basically an absolutely perfect match to meet each other, and they hit it off so well that they're dating now. I think it's going to be a really amazing experience for both of them.

I also bought my first legal bottles of wine and rum.
