    Pavilion Suggestions

I know we have a forum just for this, but it rarely gets attention.

There was a server upgrade in may (not so much an upgrade, as a complete replacement), so there's all sorts of room for expansion and such. what would people like to see? it doesnt have to be RPG Maker related either.

come on, any ideas you have, give them.

I want to see the pavilion branch out into more than just an rpg maker site.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

I can't really think of anything at this moment.

Though, if I do think of something, I'll come back to the topic.

I'd love the pavilion to become more of a site for all those creative game making programs, I guess. I don't really know.

are you serious? because something like that would require a lot of work. we'd have to expand staff considerably, re-code the entire site which means new graphics, new html, new software...

I get your point. but I just dont think it's possible.

BUT if it's something some pavilion members want to get together and try, I'll go for it and even host the project. get a basic structure going, hammer out some plans, and tell me what needs to be done.

I think we should keep it as is.

The only thing I want to see at the moment are more descriptions for the reputation levels:

                      Re: Pavilion Suggestions

I'm not saying overnight the pavilion is going become one a major videogame website. I'm just saying there are enough creative people here with the skills necessary. It would be difficult yes, especially since everyone's spread out, but there are enough artists to where coming up with a good webdesign shouldn't be a problem, I'm guessing there are enough CS majors or just plain computer geeks to where the webworking shouldn't pose too much of an issue. Loki and BZ were actual writers for gaming sites if I'm not mistaken and I feel there are enough people here who are creative enough and for damn sure opinionated enough that we could get a decent staff of reviewers and article writers. A bunch of people go to E3 and other conventions already. Magus does pretty good movie reviews("It stinks!!!"). Hell, we've even got someone inside the industry.

I just think that it would have more than a puncher's chance of getting off the ground. After all there's a large population of people here that are either out of college or getting to the point where we're about to start careers in things. Why not the pavilion?

I'll look into the possible development of a side-site for stuff like that. Gotta talk to the rest of the staff and some other things first. I like the idea, but I'm very pessimistic.

I would like to see something that would get more people involved in RPG Maker since the Pavilion and the Mag are both almost dead when it comes to RPG Maker.

We've tried a lot of things over the years. there's no helping it though, aside from when a new RPG Maker comes out, people arent very interested in the software.

This is why I want suggestions. We need a way to keep the site and community alive between installments.
