oh man, thanks for letting me know about that. what the hell is up with all the spammers that have been signing up lately? I have image verification up so they cant be bots, and they have to verify their e-mail address when they register too. a lot of trouble to go through just to post once and get your account deleted.

Actually I'm pretty sure bots are able to get past the image verification algorithms. You might want to try adding in something people will need to have read the site to get and have it as a free text entry in addition to the image verification. I know even on a small board that I an running for a friend's webcomic we have like 3 spam accounts, and only 13 registered users (though it's phpBB and not VBulletin). It seems they have gotten smarter, mainly because the big thing in AI and Machine Learning seems to be image recognition right now, and they've been able to read crappy handwriting at the postoffice for a while.
Just saying it is possible they are bots, though I guess companies could have things like call centers but for message boards, though in my case I hope they wouldn't be stupid enough to have them waste their time on a board with 250 posts.Comment

Probably one kid found this place, told all his friends, and they're all immature so they spam a lot.
