If you only play one game on XBox Live, ever, play Chromehounds!

It is the most deep, most engrossing, most enjoyable online experience i have ever had. I just spent 3 hours playing with my squad, the "OldHoundDogs", and i wouldnt have stopped when i did except that i have to walk my dog in a few.

There is a persistent war that goes on between the 3 nations of Tarakia, Morskoj, and Sal Kar, and right now we are righting on the Tarakia side, and i earned enough money to make some major upgrades to my hound. oh god, if From Software can do the same kind of online joy with AC4 as they have with Chromehounds, there will be people dying in front of their consoles because they dont stop playing.

Chromehounds is the ONLY game i have that i would never have any desire to sell.

Does it work better than Planetside? Cause sometimes in that game you'd spend an hour looking for a battle.

There are preset maps that you enter, and if there arent any human enemies for you to face in that area, then there would be AI enemies, that have some DAMN good AI.

A group of 5 of us got murdered by the AI enemies at one point, they use some very good tactics, have good accuracy (but not cheating, "i'm-always-getting-hit" accuracy).

I plan on spending a few more hours again on it tomorrow after work. the squad i'm in is a bunch of guys, most in their 30's, that play casually and for fun, and thats exactly what i'm looking for.

Its definitely not a game for the ADD type, because the hounds are slow paced, but the action is fast and fun. And it requires a bit of strategy to play.

I'll see if we have room, but i was the 20th person to join, so unless someone has left there isnt any room left. It might be hard to convince them to let you join, the squad was specifically made because everyone didnt want to play with younger people, but as long as you can be a mature player, then if we have room i may be able to get them to invite you.

How much of the single player have you played yet? you should play a bit of that too, because you can get some good weapons and parts by playing the single player missions. Try to finish the single player of the hound type you like best, as it will give you a variety of parts.

Do you ever go to IGN, the board for Chromehounds is a free board, and it would be EASY to find a squad there. They are recruiting all the time. i'll post a link to the boards when i get home, i cant access ign from the computers in the lunch room.

All right Illl check out that place.

So far Ive completed the all of the soldier type missions, and Im starting on the sniping ones. Its just not as much fun sniping when you can have 4 machine guns blazing at once.

Its too bad you cant carry over the parts you buy online to your offline game though. Cause I bought a ton of parts there.

                Chromehounds IGN Boards

I know you will have to register, but its worth checking out, as you shouldnt have a problem at all finding a decent squad.

In the meantime, i'll see if my squad has an opening.

I may have a chance of getting you in, they are leery of letting anyone under thirty in, but if the other people that were interested in joining dont get online in the next few days, i may be able to convince them to let you in the squad.

If they've got other people lined up dont worry about it then.

                    Ill find one eventually.

If you post on the chromehounds boards on IGN, you should be able to find a squad with no problems.

I hate working in teams, is there also a free-for-all deathmatch in CH?

Yeah theres the standard Online multiplayer modes.

Deathmatch, standard, capture the flag, lastman standing, etc, and all the variants of those with teams.

Not as many people seem to play those though.

Re: If you only play one game on XBox Live, ever, play Chromehounds!

I took pics of my two main Hounds. Kinda grainy, but I was using a digital camera in front of my TV.

Pretty speedy setup, with 4 piles, and 3 rocket launchers. Awsome for up close fights. Notice the skull with googly eyes decal, and my logo I made in the emblem editor on the knees. Spiffy!

Sorta a slower setup, with 2 double barrel shotguns, 2 rocket launchers, and 2 cannons on the side. Having extra shields in the right spots will either win or lose you a fight most of the time in this game. Notice the teeth on the feet.

Being able to throw decals and designs where ever the hell you want is awsome. The trick to the emblem editor though is that it doesnt let you draw things with pen and pencil tools. Theres a bunch of all ready made designs you can mix and match, and change the dimensions of and rotate around however you want. But theres one section of parts to use that are all basic shapes. Square, triangle, circle, diamond, etc and you can warp and rotate all these shapes around to make any design you can think of. Only limit is that it works with layers, and you can only put one shape/premade design on a single layer. There are around 18 layers though, so theres more than enough. Ive seen people with the Decepticon logo plasterd all over their Hound, and even a red commie one with Swastikas all over.
