Is This Wrong? (Game Design)

I'm writing the script for my next game, (which is temporarily named Horizon) and I came accross a song that fits the overall theme of the game so well, it's almost uncanny.

My question is whether I should use this song. It's an old Chris Cornell song. My game is of course non profit, and my understanding is that if it's non profit, it doesn't matter. (Look at all the flash movies at Newgrounds, for example, that feature commercial music). That leads me to believe there's nothing wrong with it, but what do you guys think?

Well, Journeying Electronic Replicant Engineered for Mathematics and Yelling, I think you should kill Cornell for stealing inspiration from your game.

What do you mean? The idea behind my game is completely original. I came accross that song on the radio a few days ago.

I dont know who Chris Cornell is, but I doubt he's gonna sue some dude for using his song in a game that like eight people are going to play.

it's illegal. same way that unlicensed anime fansubs are illegal.

and in the same way, it's never, EVER bothered with by the artists, because its:

1. free publicity
2. fan appreciation

Yeah, I was making a joke, insinuating that this Chris Cornell went into the future, played your game with his song, went back in time, and inspired by himself and your game, wrote the song. So kill him, break the paradox, and be done with it.

Ryner, I kinda don't appreciate that remark, I mean my games are not million sellers, they aren't even the best anything in any category, but each of my computer games have been played by at least a thousand people a piece. Maybe I'm just over-sensitive.

Edit: I would much rather wish I had the talent to make music and sing. But I don't. God I'm cursed.

Using the song sounds AOK to me but how can something be completely original?

What do you mean? When I say "original" I am talking about the script and idea for my game, not the song of course.
