    Taxes...

Who waited until today to do their taxes besides me? I had to walk down to the post office to get envelopes and to get them postmarked today, but I realized when I got there that I did not have the address for the federal IRS center in Kansas City. Luckily, another woman came to the counter turning her taxes in and I copied the address off of her envelope. I always tell myself every year that this will be the last year I wait until the last minute to do my taxes, but the next year, I repeat the cycle. Anyone else?

      Re: Taxes...

I actually did my taxes back in early March. But since I owed money, I refused to send it in until last week.

      YES, I'M STILL BITTER!

I get money back from the government, but I didn't do mine until a few weeks ago.

I would never wait until the last week to get them done.

I did mine as soon as I got my W2. I hate having them done so I like to do them ASAP and get the **** over with. I am also always in need of tax return money.

Seeing as how most people on this site seem to be high school/college aged, how many people use the 1040 EZ form? I've used it ever since I started doing taxes, and still use it today.

I've used the EZ for eight years now. The last two years I did Telefile for my federal taxes but they axed it this year.

My taxes are so mind-numbingly easy they could be done in my sleep. I'll probably have to pay to have my taxes done someday.

I did my federal online, I think Wednesday or Thursday night. But I still haven't done my state, so my mom did them for me, all we have to do is haul ass to the post office before midnight...

Mine too...my federal taxes took me no more than 7 or 10 minutes or so. The most complex part was figuring out the EIC, by which I'm getting back 300 bucks. It's sad when your state taxes are more complex than your federal taxes. And H & R Block actually wanted to charge me $50 to fill out my 1040 EZ for me. I laughed in their face.

I worked there for one year, and I highly doubt your taxes are so complicated you should pay 100+ dollars for some possibly under-trained "professional" to do the taxes.

Unless you like that fast money thing.
