Congrats, highwind. Just keep following your dream and you can get places. If you can go out infront of a bunch of drunks, you should be able to handle a bigger audience. I've always wanted to do standup just once though. I think I have some good jokes and I'd like to see how well I could do at it. I might see if anyplace around me has an open mike comedy night or something. Anyways, congrats highwind. Yeah, stand-up material not done in stand-up is rarely funny. A lot of the humor comes from inflection and timing.
