Re: Eat that, Boll
Konami has creative control of the MGS movie? And they've had a hand in the Silent Hill movie...
Is it possible the company could help raise video game movies to a level of acceptableness?Last edited by Ryner; 02-04-2006, 03:22 PM.Ryner's Games

Re: Eat that, Boll
I'm simultaneously hoping so and hoping that they don't.
I mean, look at it this way: There's this underground band that you've liked for years. You swear that they are the greatest thing, but then they get a contract with a major label, and suddenly EVERYONE likes them. Now that thing you felt belonged to you, suddenly belongs to everyone, and as a result, you stop liking the band, maybe(most likely, in fact) because they've changed to suit this new audience.
That's how I feel about it. Or maybe it's just rambling.

Re: Eat that, Boll
Maybe I worded that wrong. I mean to say that you stop liking something, not merely because it's popular, but because they've changed so much to please everyone that you stop liking them because you feel like they're not even the same band anymore.
Also, Caciss helped to make my point beautifully.Last edited by Riotsword; 02-04-2006, 10:14 PM.

Re: Eat that, Boll
Riot and Caciss have a point. Like since the X-Men movie came out every X-Men comic book except Astonishing is patterned more after the movie than the books themselves. It's annoying. Hopefully that won't happen with videogames but it's very possible it might.
He is. It's a lot easier to throw together a crap movie and collect on the tax writeoff when it bombs than to try and make a good movie and hope it turns a profit. It's like he's TRYING to make terrible movies.Last edited by DarkwingChuck; 02-05-2006, 12:26 AM.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

I don't think that's true at all. From all the interviews with him that I've read it looks like he really belives that his movies are great films and he's being a product of predujice. He is.
