Blizzard, Anti-Gay?

Re: Blizzard, Anti-Gay?
probably one of the reasons i'm gonna cancel WoW (atleast until the expansion), and the fact that City of Heroes seems much more gay friendly. It is a stupid hardline stance, and in and of itself is discriminatory.
Besides, i havent played WoW in almost a month, and dont have much of a desire to go back right now, because City of Heroes/Villains, has consumed all my MMORPG time, and almost all of my game playing time in general.Last edited by Jeroak Nelave; 02-03-2006, 03:09 AM.Vita, 3DS, PSP, PS3, PC, WiiU, Wii & 360

Re: Blizzard, Anti-Gay?
Considering the number of children on those forums, I can see why Blizzard would try to avoid posts mentioning transgenders and such. Even one as pretty harmless as the article says the topic in question was. Kill the dragon while it's a baby, so it doesn't grow bigger and cause more trouble in the future. Get my drift?
Not saying it isn't pretty stupid, I just dont feel the need to automatically scream out "Blizzard hates queers!" over something silly like this.Ryner's Games

Re: Blizzard, Anti-Gay?
no, its not that blizz hates gay people, its that blizz is taking a hardline stance against something that they should not be against. and there are enough anti gay players and guilds that should be removed from the game as well.Vita, 3DS, PSP, PS3, PC, WiiU, Wii & 360

Re: Blizzard, Anti-Gay?
This is why I had a problem with the Gamefags comment, not because it was a gay joke but because it cheapens the talent displayed by good gay jokes like the two above.
I never played WoW. It seems interesting but I'd rather play CoH/CoV because they seem like more fun with the comic book setting. Anyway, I don't really have a problem with what Blizzard's doing. It's like that saying that you can't make everybody happy so the only way to be fair is to make nobody happy. Allowing pro-gay topics while disallowing anti-gay ones (not counting comments that were directly harrassing or mean spirited because that's a seperate issue) they had a double standard. So they're trying to address that by trying to discourage all comments that involve sexuality.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

Re: Blizzard, Anti-Gay?
Who the hell tells anyone on MMORPG's their gender or sexual orientation?
I guess if I decided to play a female and some guy decided to try hitting on me I'd log out right away, delete the character, and stick exclusively with male characters.
Saying that Blizzard is anti-gay because they want to discourage people from being openly homosexual in an MMORPG is idiotic. There is no point in telling anyone ANY of that information, because odds are good you will never meet any of them in person, anyway.

Re: Blizzard, Anti-Gay?
BUT permitting the "hetero only/anti-gay" guilds and discussion creates a double standard. If Blizzard wants to redeem themselves, it’s only fair to do away with them, too.Last edited by Gustaff 13; 02-03-2006, 08:27 PM.
