    The Greatest Comedian

Yeah, who do you think the greatest comedian is? This dosen't mean your favourite comedian, but the one you think impacted comedy (or anything else) in a positive way that sets them apart from the crowd.

I nominate Bill Hicks, because I really think that he opened a lot of people's eyes about a lot of different things, and was convulsively funny about it.

    Ok, your turn.

Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Jerry Howard. Might throw Shemp in there, too. AKA the Three Stooges. They have had more of an influence on modern comedy than most would like to admit.

They influenced the writers/creators of Futurama, the Simpsons, Ren and Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead, etc, etc. Leslie Neilsen and the Zucker brothers have also paid homage to them many times.

George Carlin. Sure he had a filthy mouth, but the range of topics he hit on his comedy was amazing, and usually timeless.

The Three Stooges and The Marx Brothers. I believe they had a greater impact on comedy than anyone else.

I don't think I know enough to say who. I will say that I might have the opportunity to see George Carlin live some time soon.

I'm not sure if anyone else would've said this, but I guess I would choose Richard Pryor.

                    George Carlin
one of the most prolific comedians, with days and days of stand up material where an average club comedian won't break an hour of original material in his lifetime.

I'd say Hedberg if he wasn't stone dead... my current favorite is Daniel Tosh.

It has to be Richard Pryor.
