I feel very hot but I'm shivering so hard my teeth are clattering together. My lower back feels like a megaton weight is bearing down on it, yet my normal thought processes remain unhindered. Can anyone diagnose these symptoms because I don't believe in doctors?

I've felt like this a few times, but could never figure out what it was. It would go away after about 5-6 hours. Best thing to at least feel comfortable would be a good hot bath, and just soak in it for as long as the water is warm(2-3 hours). The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder." ~ Thomas Jefferson

go to the doctor, it could be something very severe. Sounds to me like you have the flu, or possibly some form of meningitis(sp?).Vita, 3DS, PSP, PS3, PC, WiiU, Wii & 360

Re: OK, something's not right here.
God (or whomever) forbid it is meningitis...if it is...it's an emergency ****ing situation. Hopefully it's something much less devastating, but if not and you don't get any treatment, don't make any plans for Monday.
kidshealth.org has a nice little write-up about the causes, symptoms, and treatments of meningitis here: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/health...eningitis.html
or you can try diagnosing yourself at WebMD if the symptoms don't seem to match up...turns out there are a variety of causes for meningitis, bacterial meningitis is much rarer than most, but is also much more lethal if left untreated. Even if it's not meningitis, it could be an infection of some sort, which would still demand treatment from a physician.Last edited by Shard; 11-04-2005, 01:25 PM.So you're a fish out of water...

Re: OK, something's not right here.
the first things he mentioned made it seem like the flu, but those symptoms combined with back pressure, could be a severe form of menengitis, which means... GO TO THE DOCTOR!Vita, 3DS, PSP, PS3, PC, WiiU, Wii & 360
