    Mind boggling idiots...

I'm selling my washer and dryer, and I didn't bother to take pics, thinking that people know what washers and dryers look like, but apparently they don't.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE%3AIT&rd=1

Check out the info I had to add, plus the two questions and answers I posted because I had 3 different bidders asking what they looked like. Notice that the second Q&A asks the exact same thing as the first(Click the "more" if the second Q&A isn't displayed).

I can't even fathom what these people hope to gleen from the pictures that they can't from being told that they are white and in excellent shape. I mean, that really is all a picture would show, if even that.

Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

Considering you didn't mention whether they were front or top load, capacity, weight I'd want to see a picture too, rather than have to look them up by model number. And also you say they run well but didn't say if they're rusty or physically damaged at all until after they asked about pictures. And you don't mention if the connector hoses will be included. I wouldn't want to buy something based on that vague of a description either.

If I was going to buy something like that, I would want to see some pics as well.

I find it reasonable to want pictures.

I wouldn't buy anything off the internet if I couldn't see a picture of what it was. It could be a pencil and I'd still want a picture of it.

I'd need a picture or two, myself, assuming I needed such. Plus some additional details.

Now see, where's the nap attack when you really need them.

Pinky, the NAP ATTACK is not pleased with your NAP behavior and rationality. We'll be keeping an eye on you.

                      Re: Mind boggling idiots...

Wow. For the price of $100, I'd take anything that runs, and wouldn't care what they looked like what-so-ever. The units together were about $500 new. I guess I'm the oddball here, but even if I were getting a rusted-and-dented-no-hoses-included-washer-and-dryer I wouldn't care as long as they ran well and I saved a couple hundred bucks. But I guess I'm in the minority here, so I might as well take pics then, since this seems crazy important to every one else.

If I spend $1000 or $100 or $10, I want know as much as I can about what I am buying.

You have to take in account that some people are very visual.

Also, maybe these people feel that the deal is too good to be true and they want pics to show you actually have a washer and dyer?

When it comes to appliances, bidders need to have pics, so they can see what they look like. It doesn't matter if they're in great condition, the buyer needs to have as much information as you can possibly give them on the product before buying it. Even linking them to a model picture elsewhere is better than no picture at all.

Maybe they need to find out the dimensions, or it's capacity? Maybe they need to find out if there are any spots/dirt on them? Remember, that your auction is more likely to attract bidders if it has pictures.

I'm such a functionality freak. The pictures aren't loading right to ebay either...

                              Re: Mind boggling idiots...

If you went to the store to buy a washer and dryer would you be willing to pay before actually seeing the units you'd be buying? And sometimes if someone doesn't put up a picture on eBay there's a reason, either the thing has something wrong with it or they don't really have it and it's a scam. So any time a picture isn't included it sends up a red flag.
