Hey everyone, I'm new here. I have all 3 console RPG Makers, I'm most experienced with 3, and least experienced with 1. I have started making lots of games, but never finished one before.

Re: Hey everyone
From one newbie to another, hi.
The hardest part of making a game is finishing the damn thing. That's when the real work begins. Head over to the workshop forums and try adding some tricks these guys have come up with. Some are REALLY clever, stuff you just can't come up with on your own. And it's a great time for you to add them, being that you are experienced enough to understand and employ them, but your games aren't finish you can still work them in.Last edited by godkiller; 04-24-2011, 07:37 AM."Now I feel my drive to move forward failing me. Re: Hey everyone
I've found that creating a game is alot like writing a novel, seeing as how I've finished a few of each over my years, I'll give you some pointers on getting started and staying motivated:
+ Always plan alot before you make your game, you'll love it that much more and be able to stick with it overtime.
+ Once you've finished you're basic planning outline (characters, plot, setting etc.) try and rework them again and decide how you want your game to progress and how the story presents itself.
+ Once you begin work on the game itself, make some dates on a piece of paper and write some menial goals you want to reach by then.
+ Don't try and work on tons of stuff in small short bursts, you'll get very bored very quickly.
+ To keep things even fresher, don't be afraid to change things or rework them. I've done small changes in games that have actually gave me more satisfaction than the time it took to do them.
Oh, and welcome to the Pav!

Re: Hey everyone
+ Get blindly obessed, waste several months of your life, and finish the game. Anyone can start a game, it takes a pschopath to finish it. Making games is hard."Now I feel my drive to move forward failing me. I will choose someone to kill me soon...

Re: Hey everyone
I know...
I've started in the excess of (probably) 50 something-odd games...and I've finished only 6.
And Rick, my exact sentiments sir.
