    non-linear help

I am currently on the storyline of my plotted RPG3 game, The Slayer. I am going to make it non-linear, and was wondering what help you wellsprings of infinite knowledge can provide.

What kind of non-linear do you mean?

There's the Legend of Mana model, which entails having a certain number of locations for the characters to explore with no particular order to explore them in.

Then there's the Grand Theft Auto model, in which the characters have plenty of opportunity to explore the whole location, but in order to further the plot, they must perform jobs for various NPC's.

There's also the choose-your-own-adventure model, in which the characters have choices to make at key plot points and the story changes depending on the decisions they make.

Okay. After a lot of thought: I have the non-linear system: Scribe Explore. You only start being able to go to your hometown and Terian, the location of Slayer HQ. then, each time you choose a mission, the location it's held at is added to your map (if it's not already there.) Thus, imagine Grand Theft Auto, but having to earn the rights to the different sections.

          That doesn't sound very non-linear.

well, you have more then one mission at a time to choose from. Plus, you can go back to prevoisliy explored areas and there will be special events. It's hard for my thoughts to be words .
